That is right!!!Bremerton over the last couple of years has worked very hard on a huge revitalization plan, which is paying off. This month's issue of Seattle Magazine has tagged Bremerton as the Northwest Getaways Feature. Writer Lynn Cook takes a look at Bremerton as a getaway destination. It is our turn now; after all we have been called the Metropolitan Center of the West Puget Sound. We no longer have to ride the ferry over to Seattle to enjoy a great on the water boardwalk, trendy eateries, or a local art scene. Now Seattleites can come and visit us!

Over the past several months I have written many articles about the City of Bremerton's
revitalization plans and progress. I chose to live in Bremerton based on its Comprehensive Plan. I enjoy living in an area that values the quality of a Downtown Core Area.
So please take a look at the Mayor's 2007 Harborside District Report and read how much progress has been made on the waterfront now called the Harborside District.
This is the reason that Bremerton has been given the name "Metropolitan Center of the West Puget Sound". The best part is there are still some amazing projects to come.

Welcome to Bremerton WA on the Beautiful Kitsap Peninsula between the Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges in Washington State. Every time I am asked if it rains in the area that song by Albert Hammond ... "It Never Rains in Southern California" pops in my head! Of course it rains in southern California. Yes, it does rain here. Does it rain a lot? Depends on what area of the country you are comparing it to.
Bremerton receives only a modest amount of rain annually, less than most cities on the Eastern Seaboard. The precipitation is concentrated in the winter months, and summers are fairly dry. Because of the sometimes constant cloud-cover, many people have the impression that it rains all the time. It really is just perception. Bremerton, Washington and Houston, Texas have the same annual rain fall. Wild huh?!

Building Walks & Patios with a Walk Maker Mold.
For the next few weeks I will be writing about some very easy spring time 1st impression projects. These projects you can easily do in a weekend to prepare your home for that "Curb Appeal Wow".
Many buyers have started their search on the internet and have seen the pictures of your home prior to actually visiting in person. What you want to do in your photos online is have some "teaser" pictures so there is an urge for a prospective buyer to get in their car and get to your home.
The cost of this project is very minimal.
So find a spot that needs some "jazz" and let's get started.
The following tools and materials can be found at your local Lowe's.
You can find the directions where you purchase the products. I mix my concrete in a huge plastic tub. I usually do it with my hands while I am wearing gloves. Once I get to the consistency I want I am ready to pour into the mold. Once in the mold I compact it and trowel the top. After the cement is compact and level I remove the mold. Once the mold is removed I smooth the edges for the look I want. I usually have enough cement left over to do ½ of the next mold. If I had a cement mixer I would mix up 3 or so bags at a time so that I could do several molds quickly. For me just out "piddling" in my yard this works fine.
Here are the before pictures - well almost before! This is the area cleared out. This yard hand had yard work done for 20 years (from what neighbors said) so there was a lot of "prep" work.

The City of Bremerton still holds that "small town" feel with all the closeness of the ever fun and happening Seattle. Bremerton is where I met my husband who is a United States Navy sailor and where we have planned to retire once he completes his 20 year Navy military career. In 2006 while my husband was serving his second tour in Iraq I returned to the area and purchased a home with anticipation of new duty orders. Because I missed selling real estate in Washington immensly we decided that no matter what the Navy told us I was going to live back in Bremerton, Washington. As the plan would unfold my husband received orders to another Marine Corps unit located in Anchorage, Alaska on Elmendorf Air Force Base. Free Buyer's Report | Free Seller's Report | Free Market Analysis Presentation: Traditionally, the selling agent's role in a real estate transaction has been to represent the seller. This meant the selling agent owed a fiduciary duty to the seller, not to the buyer! It is possible, however, for the buyer to have representation whereby the selling agent would owe the fiduciary duty to the buyer. Viewing Properties: Communicate clearly to me your requirements for a new home; I will preview properties for you, selecting only those that fulfill your specific needs. If you see a home in an advertisement, newspaper, magazine, TV or internet - or drive by a home you like, call me for information. I can obtain all the information quickly and accurately from the listing broker without subjecting you to "strong arm" sales techniques you might be subjected to if you tried to obtain that information yourself. If you decide to attend an open house held by another Real Estate professional, all you have to do is hand them one of my business cards I have provided you and explain you are working with another real estate professional. This will avoid potentially uncomfortable or confusing circumstances.
It's also a good idea to take a Buyer's Check List (included in this package) with you while you are viewing properties. In some cases, you may view so many properties that it becomes difficult to remember the pros and cons of each one. This list, along with additional information provided by myself can help you analyze which properties more specifically meet your criteria!
Financing: Before, or shortly after you begin touring prospective properties, you should be Pre-Approved or Pre-Qualified for a mortgage loan. This will help you and myself when negotiating, and it could possibly make the difference of getting your offer accepted over others! Many mortgage loan companies will offer you Pre-Approval or Pre-Qualifications over the phone, via e-mail and by appointment. I can also recommend a mortgage loan officer or assist you in locating one! This also saves you the time and effort of looking at homes outside of your price range. It is important to note the difference between Pre-Approval and Pre-Qualification. Pre-Approval is an actual mortgage loan approval based upon your credit report, income and assets. A Pre-Qualification is an educated estimate of what you would qualify for based upon non-verified information supplied by you. If at all possible, a Pre-Approval is the better way to go!
Making an Offer: I will prepare your purchase and sales agreement offer with you and will guide you through the essential details of the binding contract. You will be asked to give a check for "Earnest Money Deposit" at the time the offer is prepared, so be sure to have your checkbook with you. I will assist you throughout the entire offer and acceptance process.
Closing: The closing agent (usually an escrow company) will prepare the necessary legal documents, including the deed, and call you for an appointment to sign your closing papers. When they call you for this appointment, they should tell you the exact amount you need to bring with you. As a general rule, personal checks are not accepted at closing, so be sure to bring a cashier's check. Once you have signed your closing papers, deposited your funds and the deed is recorded in your name, I can give you the keys to your new home!

Do you know what a BLOG is? From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: A blog (a portmanteau of web log) is a website where entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. Click on any of these three pictures to be directed to one of my three different blogs. When I list your home it will be displayed on all of these sites along with all of the other free flyer sites - Yes, and even CraigsList. CraigsList flyers seem to show up very quickly on the first page of Google for some awesome exposure.
ANCHORAGE ALASKA
My husband who is in the US Navy is stationed with a Marine Corps unit in Anchorage, AK on Elmendorf Air Force base. I spend a couple weeks here and there. This was my first summer visiting the "Land of the Midnight Sun" - and it truly is just that. It is so wild not having it get dark until 4am and then only a "dusk" type feel until the sun rises again.
These pictures were taken at Chugach State Park. This is the third largest state park in America. 1/2 of a million acres. You can hike, ski, camp and ride snow machines and 4 wheelers. We spent the day on a 4 Wheeler trail. It was about 60 degrees and gorgeous!
Picture 1 - This is my husband on his toy. We rode this thru the park on a trail for 4-wheelers. Was so amazing not to feel like a criminal on a 4-wheeler after spending 3 years in CA with almost no where to ride.
Picture 2 - This is Lake Eklutna. It was amazing how blue it was and so clean. The water in this park looks like it has never been touched. We hiked up to a Glacier but the melt had already started so we had to turn back since we didn't have any rock climbing gear. Next year we are going to rent a canoe and explore this lake. We didn't bring any fishing rods -dang.!! I just leaned to fly-fish and this would have been a great place!
Picture 3 - Was taken at a memorial park in Anchorage. On Sundays people come to fly kites. These are not just ordinary kites; these are kites that if you don't hold them right you could loose fingers. They are huge - like 20 feet across!! I could watch them for hours - but you will never see me flying one!!!
