December's Season of Celebrations & Sharing - Help with Electrical Service - Houston 2011

Help with Electric Bills

December's Season of Celebrations and Sharing

Help with Electrical ServiceReliant Energy, the main provider of electricity for the Houston area has a program called CARE (Community Assistance from Reliant Energy), which provides help to customers who may be going through a difficult time and, therefore, having a difficult time paying their electric bill.

Customer cases are reviewed to see if they meet the hardship criteria that would quality the customer to receive assistance. Customers needing assistance can call 211 from anywhere in the State of Texas to find out who they should contact for help.

If you want to donate even as little as $1.00, you can do so by checking a box on the Reliant statement and filling in the amount. $1.00 alone isn't going to do much, but added up with other $1.00's or more, a lot of people can be helped. It will be especially nice, if at Christmastime, more people will come forward to help.

December's Season of Celebrations and Sharing - Supporting Our Troops - Cypress Cares - Box Packing Open to the Public

Supporting Our Troops - Cypress Cares - Box Packing Open to the Public
December's Season of Celebrations and Sharing

December's box packing get-together is today, December 22, 2011 -- 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church on Huffmeister.

Box packing is a monthly project of Cypress Cares and it is open to the Cypress Carespublic. If you are interested in participating, they suggest checking their webpage to see if there are specific items needed for the month and to confirm that month's meeting time and location. If you want to get involved, but can't attend today, check their calendar to see other times that may work for you.

For anyone wanting to give back to and support those who are fighting for our country, Cypress Cares is a good choice. You can contact them by email: info@cypress-cares.org or go to their website (suggested!) to learn more about them. Of major importance to me, when donating money to any organization is what percentage of my donation goes to the cause itself. At Cypress Cares 99% of any financial contribution goes toward services for the troops.

Their Mission Statement is "Cypress Cares is dedicated to providing community support for the troops who protect Americ's freedom by sending care packages and letters of encouragement from home."

Their motto is: "Because Our Troops Need and Deserve Our Support."
