Sunday a day off??

Is Sunday a day off or not?? While many occupations allow us to have scheduled days off, our

business is not as "day off" friendly. While I know many of you are really good at taking a day off

and keeping it, I have not yet mastered that one. After 20 years of working in this business you would

think I would have. Maybe it was growing up on a farm and having to work 7 days a week there.

So you also are wondering how the goals are coming?? So far so good. I am off today of my workout

routine because I completed 5 days of 1 hour workouts this week! My goal is 5 miles while running-

walking and 20 miles while spinning. While it's only been less than a month..I'm feeling much better.

It helps me sleep and be more productive during the day. It also seems to help the stress!

So while I'm taking a day off of exercise, I'll be going to work today! I have a showing and 2 open

houses. By the way, the temp is zero (or less). Come visit me at one of my open houses! I'll have the

heat on for you!

Have a productive week!

Tomorrow we'll start running!

I'm going to start off by running a few miles at the YMCA tomorrow. It's one of my new goals.

However, I was actually busy this weekend running around and working! I'm so excited about that.

I LOVE TO WORK!

Here's what I want to know: Who are THEY? Have you heard "THEY" say we will have a terrible

year in Real Estate? I really want to meet them. They say they're the experts. However, I've been

selling real estate in my area for 20 years. I believe I'm the expert here....not THEM.

Maybe it's time to be more vocal about our own areas. Buy local, stay local and be an expert in your

local area. Maybe we can get THEM to just go away and talk about something else for awhile.

Write your goals down!

Today is the day to sit down and WRITE your goals for 2009. I'm willing to bet that most of you have

never tried this technique. Would you believe that you have a much great chance to meet that

goal just by writing it down.

Sharing your goal with someone also gives you a better chance to have it happen! It helps

to make it "real".

So...here we go. I am going to write down 3 major goals for myself for 2009.

1. Work out 5 days a week. (for 3/4 to 1 hour). I allows me to just plain feel better!

2. Eliminate debt. Or at least decrease it. I'll use today as a starting point and decrease. Yes, I'd like it

to be at zero this time next year..but there is a reality as well.

3. Have one more closing than I had in 2008. I had 53 closings in 2008 for a total of $8,300,000 in

sales. While the real estate market has been changing, I want to stay consistent in my sales for 2009.

There. I gave you my top three goals. I challenge you to write your top three down!

Happy New Year to all...and a toast to accomplishing all our goals in 2009!

Bottoms Up!

Do I have a deal for you! I have a home listed in Janesville for $229,000 that sold in 2007 for $274,000.

Is that a great deal or what??? It is truely amazing how much home you can get for your money! If you

have 5% down, your monthly payment could be as low as $1250 per month. My goodness. This

could be a very exciting Spring market. But many people are waiting. Why? Most of the sales occuring

right now are negative ads from the media. They are doing the negative selling.

How do you know when the bottom is really the bottom. What if the prices go down more?

It just seems hard to believe they could go down much more.

Besides, if you are currently renting, you are paying rent without gaining anything

on your investment. I would have to think this would be a better situation. Also, what about getting the

move up home. The time is right for so many people to get a home in 2009. Why not take a look

at what you can get for your money. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Good bye and Thanks....

Good bye and Thanks....

This is the headline for the local newspaper.

Today was the day. The last official day of employment for so many people in our community.

I know it had to be an emotional day for those folks wondering what will happen next.

The news crews were there from all around giving their reports. So, what was a good thing for

our economy for several decades has ended. We will need to figure out how to move forward.

So, my heart goes out to all those with sadness and worries this Holiday season.

You are not alone! We're all here with you.

Merry Christmas
