I'm so excited about our upcoming promotion in Kennett Square (mushroom capital of the workd, just outside Philadelphia and over the DE border close to Wilmington) I had to share. We just opened a new KW office (gorgeous digs in the Chatham Financial building0 around the corner from my local grocery store, Genuardi's and bank WSFS) .Genaurdi's has a large lunch area which attracts tons of local business people. And it's located in a strip mall with lots of other businesses.
Next week my colleague and I are setting a up table from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m daily (Monday- Friday) and promoting our new office and WHY NOW is a great time to buy. We will be collecting information from individuals who want to a) receive our "BEST BUY" list or b) want to be entered into our daily drawing fro prizes.
Our "prizes" will be gift certificates to the surrounding busines, such as Flogo Bistor, Saxby's Coffee, shop, the Horse Place, Hand and Stone Massage, A But Above - beauty salon and a $100 shopping spree at Genuardi's -
We are offering to pay $25 to each of these businesses if they kick in another $25 - making each gift certificate workth $50
It promotes the local businesses and gives great value.
Stay tuned for the results next week.
Don't miss this for THE most authetic Mexican food in our area. Taqeria Moroleon seems to be run by women - in the kitchen and in service. It's awesome, including the 3-piece Marachi band that often serenades you at dinner on Saturday nights. But go early beciase it gets very criwed. Very informal, great for families. BYOB. My boys love to do take out from here. Portions are enormous so just a warning. We lvoe the authentic Mexican sodas you can get as well. For more info call. I couldn't find a web site. 345 Scarlet Rd # 15 Kennett Square, PA 19348 (610) 444-1210
Clients are always asking about the best restaurants in the area and the Brandywine Valley is blessed, In particular, ask my friend Mary Currie where she wants to go and every time it's Sovana Bistro - she just cannot get enough of their Chicken Caesar salad. Of course there are a few other things to try as well, such as the Beet and goat cheese salad or their special broccoli rabe with white beans. And then there is the pizza - elegant pizza. Located at the corner of Routes 82 and 926 in a charming shopping center, Sovana embraces a farm to table mentality which is seasonally inspired and locally sourced. They've been around 10 years, now have a liquor license and continues to get high marks from restaurant critics. Go to http://www.sovanabistro.com
Here's where I tell my clients to go to dine - to celebrate a special ocasion, to know feed as theater - well, okay, that's a bit much, but the Orchard off Route 1 which opened in the fall of 2003, is quintessential Brandywine Valley dining at its best. It is a BYOB so remember to bring your favorite bottle of wine. I always enjoy there VOSS still water though. and the chocolate truffle at the end of the meal is out of this world. Prepare to be spoiled.

Plush, softly lit dining room with contemporary clean lines of crisp white paneling, well placed antiques and plush fabrics that blend timeless elegance with one foot planted in old world luxury. Chef Trevisani's menu features new American - International cuisine that is best summed up as "well dressed" comfort food reflecting his formal training in the French style, now evolved into an eclectic fusion of continental cuisine. His attention to detail and the architecture of each plate proves his theory that food should be nothing less then a gift presented at the table.
My favorite was Grilled Swordfish Steak served over a fresh Oven Roasted Cherry Tomatoes and Rosemary Pesto Sauce accompanied with Ratatouille and my date enjoyed Seared Red Snapper Filet served with Baby Bok Choy, Curry Sauce and Creamed Spinach.
Desserts have definitely gotten better since they opened - but maybe that's because there's more chocolate and how can you go wrong there. http://www.theorchardbyob.com
