New Construction in Mobile County Deals

WHY IS BEING A CERTIFIED RESIDENTIAL SPECIALIST SO IMPORTANT?

When buying or selling a residential property, the task can be overwhelming. It is a little like doing your own Federal Income Tax return. Sure you can do it. But it is so complicated that you would be far better off with the help of a true professional. You will always wonder how much money you left "on the table". A CRS designee is the professional you need. To qualify to become a CRS, a Realtor must first have high sales volume. Then he must take advanced training in areas such as finance, marketing, and technology. He must also maintain a membership in the National Association of Realtors and abide by its Code of Ethics. A CRS is one of the top 4% of agents in the Nation. Who could ask for more?

HOME GARDENING

Did you ever ask yourself why your garden does so average while the neighbors grow great vegetables? Well a big part of it is in the preparation of the soil in advance. Now is the time to get ready for next spring. Select a small plot of ground with good sunlight. Remove the grass. I usually lift off the sod to use in parts of my yard where I need better grass. That's just me. Then til the soil well and rake out ALL vegetable matter (that is what the nematodes eat so starve them). That means remove all small roots, those funny looking white things (looks like a grub worm but is some type of root), and even leaves. Spinkle a little fertilizer (or use compost if you can buy or make some.) Then add a few handfuls of Epsom salts (this gives the soil minerals so your veggies will have plenty). Water well. Every few weeks til again, rake out any vegetable matter, and water. Continue this until a couple of weeks before you plant. The last two weeks cover the ground with black trash bags and hold them in place with large rocks or bricks. This allows you plot to warm up below the surface. After all danger of frost is past, plant your favorite vegetables. I will give you some tips later on composting and then next spring on how to watch over your garden after planting.

WALK A MILE IN HIS SHOES

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in his shoes. That way you are a mile away and you have his shoes.

Generation Y

Gen Y population members are those born between 1980 and 1999. Many are saying they are considering buying a first home now. That is a great idea since right now you can get up to $8000 in stimulus money for a first time home buyer (that is anyone who has not owned a home in the last 3 years). Also due to the economy being soft, you can get a great deal now. Prices are expected to be much higher in the next two to three years which will create equity. COLONIAL BANK CLOSED

Colonial Bank has become the 6th largest bank failure in the history of our Nation. Alabama regulators closed the bank down and handed it over to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp on Friday August 14th. The depositors can keep using their old checks and debit cards until new ones are issued. Branch Bank and Trust (BB&T) is operating Colonial Banks old locations and all teller machines will continue to operate as before. We bid a sad farewell to an old friend in Colonial Bank and welcome BB&T to the Greater Mobile Area. Questions about the closure can be directed to www.fdic.gov or by calling 800-405-8739.
