I love relating Movies to Real Estate

Because I always have real estate on my mind and I love watching movies, I tend to relate everything I watch to Real Estate. The most recent movie I rented and watched was "Taken" with Liam Neeson. I'd heard great reviews from family and friends so I was excited to watch it.

With out adding any spoilers to the blog, the story is Liam Neeson's charecter is a retired "Preventer" and his daughter is taken or kid napped. One of the big lines in the movie is when Liam is speaking with one of the kidnappers. If you see part of the line is written on the movie poster below.

How I change what he said to realt to Real Estate,d I would say to any of anyone interested in working with me as their Real Estate agent.

"I don't know who you are. I don't know what kind of home you want or have to sell. If you're looking for an agent with a fancy car, I can tell you I don't have one. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over my career. Skills that make me a professional for people like you. If you don't want to use me, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for a home for you, or I will not list your home for sell. But if you do want to work with me, I will look for your dream horme, or I will SELL your home."

Through out the movie he does what he has to with passion, percession and dedication, just as any agent should for their clients. I hope you can see the relation to all that you do. I wear my new sign proudly!

I was speaking to a fellow Real Estate agent about missed opportunities. Not because we were unable or that we were not willing, but because friends and family members had forgotten we are in Real Estate. I know with the down turn in the market there have been many agents I’ve seen come and go. But, I want people to know I’m still here, working hard.

One of the craziest stories I have heard straight from another agent, is that his own son used a different agent to sell his house. You may ask, did the father just get in to Real Estate? Was the Son living out of area? Or did this father and son have a bad relationship? I was surprised to know the son only lived two cities away, they had a good relationship, and the father had been in the business for over 20 years. The agent told me his son had just forgotten that his was in real estate when he wanted to sell his home.

I really don’t want this to happen to me. I know we've all come across these situations where we are asked for a recommendation of a good mechanic, dentist, or Real Estate agent and your mind goes blank. So I think (as in the image below) I can help by wearing my new sign.

It’s been my experience with those friends and family that I have had helped them buy or sell them a home, they were extremely happy. It’s always great to work with a professional you know, trust and it can be a much easier process.
