For the Chronicle
Our first annual Sawgrass East Sizzlin' Barbeque Social was held at our community pool on Aug. 31.
The turnout was excellent, plus we had beautiful weather, and great food.
Residents cooled off on this scorching Sunday afternoon thanks to Rosica's donation of Blue Bunny chocolate chip ice cream, and Keller Williams' koozies to keep our drinks cold.
We would also like to thank Boulavsky's Grill for their delicious chicken bog, Frank Karr with Sara Lee for donating all the buns, and Plantation Storage for the wonderful gifts and gift bags.
We appreciate the coupons and special offers from Stefano's and WineStyles as well.
Without the local businesses in Carolina Forest, we would all have to deal with on U.S. 501, and we all know how we feel about that light.
Stay tuned for our next social event to be held prior to the end of the year and visit our new Web site at http://www.benchmarkmgmtgroup.com/sawgrasseast/login.asp. Thanks again to everyone who made this event such as great success.
In the market for a home in the Carolina Forest area? At this time, the current market has several excellent deals for those looking to buy in Carolina Forest. Act now, and take advantage of all this buyer's market has to offer. We will more than likely not ever see homeprices as low as they currently are. Even more important is the fact that rates are currently low as well, and are the lowest they have been in the last 30 years.
Please feel free to search my real estate website for the best deals in Carolina Forest, and along the Grand Strand at www.mbrealestateandgolf.com. I can always be reached directly at 843-267-6016, or joecorsale@kw.com to answer any of your Carolina Forest real estate questions!!

A Recent look at the new Forest Crossings in Carolina Forest
Sawgrass East in Carolina Forest

Sawgrass East is a Portrait Homes community that was started in the year 2005. My wife and I have lived in this community from the beginning, and we are very happy here! The location of Sawgrass East is ideally positioned within the Carolina Forest community. Situated just minutes from several grocery stores, restaurants, golf courses, and retail shoppes, you won't have to drive very far to find what you need!
There are various floorplans of 2 and 3 bedroom townhomes within this community, so there is something to offer every buyer. Not into yard work? No problem! Enjoy maintenance-free living at Sawgrass East where your yard work is taken care of for you! Finally, you can't forget to mention the pool, which is a hotspot for the residents of Sawgrass East during those hot Carolina afternoons!
The Sawgrass East Market Snapshot:

The other evening, I attended a meeting in Carolina Forest to listen and learn about the proposed plans of this area. Being a resident, and a Realtor in this community, it is extremely important to find out exactly what lies ahead for this growing part of the beach. While we have certainly experienced growth beyond most everyone's wildest dreams, the infrastructure of Carolina Forest most certainly needs some attention. Unfortunately, the roads in Carolina Forest did not receive priority when it came time for the funding of roads for the Riding on a Penny Program in Horry County.
Ms. Gilliand and Mr. Gosnell stated to those in attendance that Postal Way should be completed by November 1st, which would definitely alleviate some traffic. They also showed a plan for proposed widening of roads within our area. Both Carolina Forest Blvd and River Oaks were part of this plan, although they did not quite know when it would begin.
Also proposed to be in the works within the next 14 to 16 months is a Library and Recreation Center that will be located over on International Drive. International Drive is another project that badly needs completed, and there is no definite timeframe on that project either.
I certainly hope that the Carolina Forest area will get the representation that we desperately need to improve our infrastructure, and be able to get projects such as these completed.
