Our client needed decorating and she needed it fast, so we met for lunch at The Ram in Kent, then drove on out to our favorite place for a "3 Hour Power Shop!" We were able to get a couple of custom pieces ordered for her as well as find some fabulous treasures at a "to the trade only" import store (and the Seattle Sifsters know what I am talking about!)
A couple weeks later, everything is delivered but the ottoman, and our client asks if we wouldn't mind picking it up on the way to her house for the big REDESIGN DAY... no problem, a small detour and a couple of Chai Lattes later, we arrive, ottoman in back... and have an successful Interior Redesign Day!

Because there are quite a few of us who like to gather "stuff"... I would like to talk about that today. It ends up being a problem when we try to fit it all into the limited square footage that we have. Too many items and improper placement can actually make people more tired, more irritable, and generally uneasy, yet they don't know why!
For a home buyer, it is even more pronounced when they walk into a space. How can they imagine themselves living there? Although some people can see to the "bones" of the home (the flippers and the super savvy bargain hunters) a homeowner isn't usually targeting that market, so it is important to Lighten up and Let it Breathe! ... let the space flow, air, sunshine, and life dance about the room!

Maple Valley's McSWEET vs Corporate America's McDonalds
McSweet has been bottling and selling their gourmet pickled onions for over 20 years, but when the local company, based in my own town of Maple Valley, Washington, recently applied for a registered trademark, McSweet found itself in a bit of a pickle!
Golden Arches vs Golden Onions!
The large international corporation of McDonalds has put forth jarring evidence that McSweet dilutes the famous Mc"Everthings" that McDonald trademarks.Their evidence, why the the McPizza, McRibs, McMuffin, McTurk-a-Ducks -- and whatever else they have MC'd up. Perhaps McDonalds should have "McCriss-Crossed-McApplesauced" EVERYTHING "Mc" and preserved the "Mc" forever and then we would all be done with it!!!
What's in a Name?
In fact, if you are a McClellan, Mcleon, McLoud or McLendon, or any other Mc... you may just have to accept the fact that you are owned by a McForce much too McBig to be reckoned with. Its not like all the Mc's can safely go to "Mac," because it seems like Mickey D has pretty much got the lid on that one as well, in a BIG way. Don't get too teary eyed however, because if this newly branded you came with McStock shares, it might be ok.
Will these spicy allegations be canned? Probably not.

North Bend, WA: Interior Redesign and Color Consultation
A color correction was in order for this lover of the French Country style. Our homeowner felt the bedroom was not a relaxing retreat, and although they loved the color green, the combination with the yellow and the red had quickly tired on them. Interior Redesign is using what the homeowner has to create a beautiful style, for either staging the home for Real Estate of for living in the home. In this case, our homeowners were happily living in the home, they just needed some updates!
We stayed with green, but deepened the color and worked in dark undertones. The final color pick was Sherwin-Williams Wheat Grass for the walls and Eminent Bronze for below the chair rail. The result, rich tone-on-tone styling that brings the room a soothing and sophisticated feel. We added the homeowner's new bedding and found some of the homeowner's beautiful vintage art, plates and a window frame to complete the look!
