Some of the reasons I love living in Franklin, NC are the beautiful Waterfalls, the Mountains and of course the Peace and Serenity.
I was traveling up Wayah Rd. in the Nantahala Mountains the last week and had to stop and take a picture of this waterfall. In Franklin’s tourist season months I wouldn’t have been able to see this or even stop to take a picture. Wayah Rd. is well traveled by Motor Vehicles as well as Motorcyclist. This is one of our favorite Motorcycle rides when we take the bikes out.
The Peace & Serenity I get is taking a few minutes to stop, look and listen to the water flowing down the Mountains is almost indescribable. It instantly puts me in a great mood and as I drive off I have a smile from ear to ear. You need to experience it by yourself and you’ll know what I am talking about.
When I am on a Mountain looking out it’s like meditation for me. All my thoughts about what is happening in my life, business and family are not clouding my gratitude for this wonderful life I have here in Franklin, NC.

January 12, 2012 and it still feels like Fall in the Mountains of Franklin, NC
It is suppose to snow here in Franklin, NC and surrounding areas. It is snowing all around me in places like Cowee, Burningtown and even in the town of Franklin. I live just south of town in the community of Clarks Chapel and have not seen a single flake yet.
Now this is the first time since I an remember that we have gotten this far into winter and the tempetures are still 
mild and it feels like Fall. Yes, Franklin, NC has had some cold mornings but it has been warming up to the 50s during the day. Don't mind that at all. I don't care for winter but its nothing like up north.
Macon County Franklin, NC does get snow in the winter a few times a year. It is very pretty to see but nicer to see it leave. We don't have snow tire we change into like up north. We don't have anyone come down our road and plow, its private gravel road. The main paved roads get scraped or salted first and if we are lucky it may be a day or two before they come back here. Even then I have to be able to get to the main road.
I brought all my work home and I am ready for it to snow in Franklin, NC. Where is it?

Franklin North Carolina, the southern foothills of the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina. This is where I Work, Play and Live life to its fullest. Originally from Up State NY in the Adirondack Mountains which is just as beautiful. I left home at the age of 17 and moved to sunny Fort Myers, Fl., enjoyed that area until it became too crowded for our liking. We came to Franklin, NC on our honeymoon back in 1989, Joe had been coming up to this area for many years before we finally made the move in 1993 and have never regretted it.
