On the third Saturday of October, the grand finale day of the 8-day festival begins with the largest parade in Southwest Missouri. The parade is the festival's key event and starts promptly at 9 a.m. on the Carthage Historic Square and ends at approximately noon at the Carthage Junior High School. Numerous activities are scheduled throughout the day to entertain both the young and the young at heart. These events include an arts & crafts festival, petting zoo, auto show, dog show, food vendors, and live entertainment.

The week preceding the one-day finale is filled with a variety of activities including a family fun walk, beauty pageants, baby contest, and lip-sync competition. Currently in its 43rd year, the Maple Leaf Festival offers family-style fun combined with a home-town atmosphere.

42nd Annual Maple Leaf Festival

This is one of the most fun times of the year to be able to attend the Maple Leaf Festival. Be sure to watch for pictures and information regarding the festival for those who won't be able to attend, but love old time festivals. As it begins I will be posting pictures and event happenings and findings - see the fun right from your own computer.

Description: This week-long celebration features a variety of events ranging from the Annual Queen Pageant to the Three Minutes of Fame Lip-Sync Competition. The festival finale on Saturday the 18th begins with the Largest Parade in Southwest Missouri at 9:00AM followed by a variety of special events centered around more than 80 craft booths and food vendors set-up on the historic Carthage square.
