Relocating to Nashville? Why you should consider Mt. Juliet.

For the last 7 years Nashville has enjoyed an unprecednted growth in re-location. People have been moving here steadily from all parts of the country.

We're often asked, "where should I look for home in the Nashville area?" "What is the best place to live?"

The answer to that question is really about you! What do you like to do? What is your Life-Style? What are looking for your family?

For many people that "best place to Live" will be Mt. Juliet.

A growing city just 10 minutes east of Nashville Airport and 20 minutes from downtown, Mt. Juliet is often called, "The city between the Lakes", as it is bordered on the north by Old Hickory Lake ( named for Andrew Jackson, Old Hickory, President of the United States and a Nashvillian), and on the south by Percy Priest lake.

Mt. Juliet Schools are considered among the best in Tennesse. Lake View Elementary has been named " A Blue Ribbon School", by the State OF Tennessee. Mt. Juliet High School girls basketball team has won the state championship several times.

Boating, water-skiing and fishing popular activities in Mt. Juliet. The city also boasts Tennessee's only Sail Boat Marina. Evening Regattas on Old Hickory Lake are a frequent site in summer and fall. Homes and home sites are available on this lake and many of our newcomers are surprised at how affordable Lake living can be.Old Hickory lake at Sunset

Mt. Juliet has only 25,000 people so much of it is and will always be rural, farms, cattle and horses are all abundant. Tree lined roads criss-cross the area.

Golf courses are plentiful in Mt. Juliet, with 4 country clubs and 5 public courses within a few minutes drive.

Famous residents of Mt. Juliet include:

The Kings of Leon, Charley Daniels, Lucinda Williams, Tracy Lawrence, Adrian Belew of King Crimson ( who also has a recording Studio in Mt. Juliet), and Barry Wilmore NASA Astronaut currently piloting the Space Shuttle.

Mt. Juliet Home Sellers have Success with Short Sales

Mt. Juliet Home Sellers have begun to see success using the Short Sale process to sell their homes, without destroying their credit.

This Home sold as a Short Sale in Willoughby Station, Mt. Juliet sold for $80 per sq.ft.

" Of the three options available to distressed home owners, Short Selling a home is the best", says Tom Matthews of Mt. Juliet's Hometown Lenders. " In a Short Sale the homeowner shows he is willing to work with his Lender or Bank to reach a realistic settlement. The other two options, Foreclosure and Deed in Lieu, leave the Lender or Bank with all responsibility for the property. In the long run these two options will work against the home owner as they begin to rebuild their credit". Matthews counsels distressed home owners on their options though out the Nashville area.

Short sale homes are becoming more frequent on the Mt. Juliet MLS (Multiple Listing Service).
