I noticed today that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are putting a stop to their home foreclosures from the end of November until the first week in January to see if some of these borrowers can qualify for a new loan modification program.
It's estimated that about 16,000 homeowners could have their home foreclosures stopped during this time. It would be interesting to see home many homes in logan utah would be a part of this.
Just wanted to share some thoughts on buying a condo or townhome for a rental investment property in Logan Utah. I've had 3 bedroom townhome in Logan for 2 years now as a rental......3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage.
The rent is currently $825 per month and we've never had an empty month in the whole two years. I've had decent to above average appreciation most of the time and the supply of renters has increased as of late. I've found that there is a good demand for condo rentals with garages and a low supply....hence the 100% occupancy over the 2 year period. My plan is to keep the townhome and another identical unit we're living in now as a rental for the next 10-15 years.
What are other peoples thoughts about townhomes as rentals compared to other typical rental such as a duplex or 4-plex? Please feel free to comment.

A little bit about me: I grew up on a ranch in Teton Valley, ID. Our ranch is about 8 miles outside of Driggs, ID. After graduating from high school I moved to Logan, UT to attend Utah State University. After my first year of school I served a mission for the LDS church in the Hawaii Honolulu Mission. I have been married to my wife Jennifer for 3 years and we just had our first child, Lilian, in May of 2008!!! What a change it's been so far, but I am completely and totally amazed and in love with both the women in my life! Lily is now 4 months old as of September 2008 and is changing everyday. She amazes me at the rate she learns as a child!
Cache Valley has since become our home! What a great valley to live in and what an incredible community of quality people to be around. I have loved serving the people in this area!
