The Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra
Sunday, March 8 - 4:00pm at the Community Presbyterian Church - Celebration
The Final concert of the 2008-2009 Classical Concert Series will feature the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra, making their first appearance in Celebration.
Now in their 52nd season, the Orchestra is comprised of dedicated young musicians from over 70 schools in central Florida. The conductor for the performance will be Andrew Lane, principal pops conductor of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.
The program will include Shostakovich's Ballet Suite and fourth movement from Dvorak's Symphony No. 8. for fans of Disney's Fantasia.
The program will conclude with the playing of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, featuring 17 year-old Cliff Shen, winner of the Orchestra's concerto competition. Performing with the orchestra will be Michal Svacha, a Celebration resident and a student at the Osceola County School for the Arts High School.

The Celebration Foundation Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors from Celebration High School. The student does not need to be a resident to apply. This year the Celebration Foundation will be awarding two scholarships at $1,000 each.

Platinum Dance Academy is pleased to offer a variety of specialty camps designed to maintain training, motivate our dancers year-round, and allow students to explore new disciplines. Camp tuition fees are due in full at the time of registration. 
IT'S TOUGH TO BE A BUG! CAMP (AGES 3-6):
Basic tumbling and dance skills will be taught as our studio is transformed into an enchanted magical garden. Using hands-on crafts, props, and costumes, your dancer will bring bugs, butterflies, and other garden creatures to life. Parents, stop in the last 15 minutes on Friday and check out your tumbler's new skills.
This session runs Monday through Friday from 9:00am - 12:00pm. Class sizes are limited and filled on a first-come, first-serve basis so be sure to register early. Each day will feature different content and choreography. Please dress your dancer in comfortable clothes he/she can move in easily - no denim. A light snack and all materials are included.
FULL WEEK CAMP TUITION: $125.00 SINGLE DAY TUITION: $30.00
SPRING BREAK DANCE INTENSIVE (AGES 7+):
This five-day dance "boot camp" offers beginner through advanced instruction in: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, and Acrobatics. Our structured program exposes and educates our dancers to the proper techniques needed to build a strong dance foundation. In addition, your dancer will participate dance education classes covering topics such as Nutrition, Injury Prevention, Stage Make Up & Hair Technique, and much more. This is a great time for students to try out new dance styles. Age, ability level, and previous dance experience determine class placement.
This session run Monday through Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. Early drop off (8:30am) and late pick up (6:00pm) is available. All class sizes are limited to give your dancer the special attention they deserve. Each day will feature different content and choreography. Our normal studio dress code is relaxed for this camp - however dance attire is required (no street clothes are permitted). A light snack and all materials are included. Dancers are asked to bring lunch - a refrigerator and microwave are available.
FULL WEEK CAMP TUITION: $225.00 SINGLE DAY TUITION: $50.00
