2nd Annual Mountain Idol Competition, hosted by the Northeast GA Board of Realtors

There have already been two tryouts, so now is time to join in on the fun June 6th at Cafe Portofino in Hiawassee, GA and June 7th at The Whistle Stop Grill in Blue Ridge, GA

The 2nd Annual Mountain Idol event hosted by the Northeast Georgia Board of REALTORS begins with tryouts on May 20th in Hayesville, N.C. at Chevelles, starting at 7:30pm. The next tryout location will be in Murphy, N.C. on May 24th at Chevelles, beginning at 7:30pm, then at 7:30pm on June 6th tryouts will be held at Cafe Portofinos in Hiawassee, GA. (Reservation recommended.) The final tryout location will be held on June 7th in Blue Ridge, GA at The Whistle Stop Grill beginning at 7:30pm.

If you compete and do not win at one of the earlier locations, you may tryout at one of the other venues. The Grand Finale location and date will be announced once all competitions have been held. The 2010 Spring winner, Marco Kirschner, was the recipient of a cash prize, while Fall winner, Michael Kennedy, won the opportunity to be the opening act for Vince Gill at the concert recently held May 6th at the Anderson Music Hall in Hiawassee, GA.

There is a $10.00 entrance fee to compete at each location, with proceeds being donated to a local charity.

This will be the only Mountain Idol event held by NEGBOR in 2011, so if you can sing and want to be part of this exciting event, please be sure to attend one of the above locations.

  • Attend at least one chapter meeting or educational seminar every two years (reasonable exceptions apply),
  • Complete at least one very advanced inspection course every 2 years, and
  • Have access to a number of learning tools such as inspection tips and technique illustrations, a library of home inspection books and videos, the industry's largest message board, InterNACHI's "what's new" publication of recent inspection news, and the InterNACHI University.

Butternut Creek plays to a modest 6,500+ yards, but 4 to 6 tee boxes on every hole give challenging options for every player. Water comes into play on 13 holes. Mounds, undulating greens, and elevation changes are found throughout the course. Butternut Creek Golf Course boasts Penncross Bent Grass greens and Tifton 419 Bermuda fairways and tees. The roughs and mounds have common Bermuda and love grass.

A new 23,500 sq foot Butternut Creek Community Center and Pro Shop is currently under construction.
