SAN BERNARDINO MOUNTAIN WEATHER ~ Feb. 15, 2012

Your Lake Arrowhead Realtor would like to share some local Lake Arrowhead Information with you.

We've had a mild winter, so far. However, we are now having storms roll into Southern Califorina and our local WINTER IN LAKE ARROWHEADmountains. This evening we're expected to get snow down to 3,500 feet; that is low!

If you're heading up to our local mountains, bring chains, warm clothing and patience.... driving patience. Be extra careful!

Below are a few links that may help you keep an eye on our San Bernardino Mountain (Lake Arrowhead) weather and what the roads condition are in case you're planning a trip up:

The Rental Company Tried to Get My Clients to List with Them. Grrrrrr

I had an interesting thing happen the other day that I think is worth chatting about. You all know I live and sell in the resort Madtown of Lake Arrowhead. Well, in a resort area, there are quite a few rental companies to deal with (mostly) weekend folks and vacationers. We have several such companies to handle this type of business. And several do both: RENT & SALE.

One of my latest listings is that of clients whom I sold their home too a couple of years ago. And, when they bought it, they asked which company I would suggest to rent it out. I gave them two such company names and numbers. They picked one and have had their home on the rental plan ever since.

They have now decided to sell their home and have me list it. But before I sent them the listing agreement, they contacted the rental company and told them what their plans were (gave them the appropriate 30 day notice). The rental peeps started on them immediately about listing with their company. My sellers made it perfectly clear that their Realtor was Kat DeLong, with Mountain Country Realty and that is who they'd be using.

WELL! The rental company got pretty ticked off and canceled three of the weekends they had scheduled to rent out. RUDE...plain RUDE and uncalled for, as far as I am concerned. There was no reason for this to happen, as I had the scheduled weekends listed as "NO SHOWS" on my day timer and had all interested Realtors CALL me for dates. No lock box on the property because we didn't want renters disturbed.

I'm disappointed in the rental company that treated my clients so poorly. I'm disappointed that I can't feel comfortable sending clients to a rental company without feeling they are going to be harassed if they decide to sell and don't list with them.

SHAME ON YOU is what I have to say. And YOU can be sure I won't recommend your rental company ever again.
