Clean Up, Clean Up Everybody Do Your Share! Remember that old Barney Song? UGH!
Well this Saturday, April 12 we all have an opportunity to do just that at the Parkers Crossroads Civil War Park Day. History buffs and preservationists from around the country in partnership with the Civil War Preservation Trust & the History Channel will work to lcean and restore America's civil war battlefields, cemetaries and parks.
Volunteers are needed to rake leaves, remove limbs and pick up trash at the park. For their hard work, volunteers will receive a t-shirt. Local historians will be onsite to discuss the significance of the civil war site.

Beech Lake Family Camping Resort

Here's another of my Henderson County Tennessee Hidden Gems. My husband, Scott and I were out for a Southern Sunday Drive this afternoon when we turned into the Beech Lake Family Campground. This campground gives you a chance to experience Western Tennessee's Beautiful Beech Lake. It was so beautiful. It has both tent and camper sites and rates are cheap...$17 for tent sites and $22 for campers includes water and electric hookups!
Located off I-40 (exit 108) South 6.5 miles on TN Hwy 22 West 1.5 miles on Crazy Doe Road
Just minutes off 1-40 conveniently located and SO beautiful!
If you are living that "RV life" come for a visit!
If you're looking for a great place to call home. Come for a lifetime!

For 33 years Decatur County has held what is now know as the World's Largest Coonhunt. This year's 3 day event begins on April 10 at the Decatur County Fairgrounds. Opening ceremonies are Thursday night and include live entertainment. The hunt gets underway on Friday at noon and Saturday at 9 am. There will be great concessions throughout the weekend that include fish, barbeque, chicken, burgers, ice cream and wonderful desserts. A John Deere Gator with a tractor will be awarded to some lucky winner.
Please remember this event raises money for the the St. Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. Last year's hunt raised over $180,000 and during the last 33 years has raised over $3 million for this worthy cause.
So mark your calendars so be a part of this fun and exciting tradition!
Late last month one of our local factories, Fluid Routing Solutions, (formerly Mark IV) announced that they would be expected to begin hiring about 170 new employees on April 1st.
The jobs being created in Lexington are coming from the company's plant in Ocala, Florida; about 45% of that plant will be relocated to Tennessee.
Here's our dilemma unlike many markets across the nation we do NOT have a large oversupply of homes listed. The national media has convinced the public that the housing market is in the toliet but that's not true for us. I need to actively convince homeowners that now is a GREAT time to put their home on the market in Henderson County. BUT HOW?
They are coming and we may not have enough listings to sell them! How do I let those ill-informed potential sellers know that NOW is the time to list and sell?
The Lexington Progress has announced their first annual Reader's Choice Awards. REMAX Unlimited has been selected as the Best Real Estate Company and it's owner/broker Linda Lipscomb has been chosen as the Best Real Estate Agent.
REMAX Unlimited was selected from 9 Real Estate Companies that operate here in our small market. This is an amazing honor for our company since we are truly the new kid's on the block here in Lexington Real Estate. Our company opened for business in late March 2007!
Congratulations to Linda Lipscomb for earning the Best Agent Award! She is truly deserving. She serves her clients and customers with unfailing dedication. A real estate agent for 12 years, Linda's business is almost exclusively referrals and returning clients which speaks volumes for any agent. However, while earning this Reader's Choice as Best Agent, Linda has taken on the role of owner/broker which she has done equally well. As a broker she has inspired me to be a better agent and given me the tools and opportunities to do so. She provides her agents with a warm, inviting office to work from with a support staff that works as hard as she does.
I am proud and honored to be a part of REMAX Unlimited- The Lexington Progress Reader's Choice for Best Real Estate Company.
