People that know me know I am dedicated to everything real estate. I thrive on problem solving and find special joy in association management. I do not feel it was a career I choose as much as it chose me. I immediately dove in head first and dont feel that I have come up for air in almost nine years.
Unfortunately education is limited. There is one fairly large national organization Community Association Institute. They recently held their National Conference in New Orleans. What reinforcement for me? I was so excited to be among some of the top association managers in the country. To learn how they solved their problems and the issues their properties faced. I am a portfolio manager among association managers. I must admit I was somewhat envious of the managers that were able to focus solely on one property. Not every property is of the size to support that type of management and my properties are very dear to me. I have a strange attachment to the ground and the buildings. When they need something I need something. I need to solve their problems.
Back to the conference though, I went to New Orleans in advance of the conference for a two day class. I enjoyed every moment of it. My classmates were from various states. It was something to be a part of and I wanted to soak up every drop of knowledge. Not only from the class but also from my classmates.
On test day i felt confident in my knowledge. Wow my score came in this week and I made a 98%. I am so pleased. (I still do not know what organization an independent insurance agent is a part of, I need to look this up.)
I am now able to test for my designation as CMCA- Certified Manager of Community Associations. I feel absolutely giddy. A property will not be more successful than its management. Always striving for more!
Well Central is getting together again to show why it is such a special place. AAS Company, Chase Healthcare, Comuter Evolutions, Louis Mechanical and Southern Power is once again involved to get things cooking. After Katrina Central banded together to earn money for a community flooded by Katrina. Cooking for our Neighbors was the start of something great. In 2007 the newly formed City of Central would acquire the schools. A great event was held to raise the funds needed to get the schools off to a great start!
It is that time again! Central is having Cooking for Our Kids to benefit all schools in Central- Public and Private. Join your Central neighbors on April 4th for a crawfizh boil and April 5th for the cook off. What fun! Cant wait!
