Citizen Diplomacy Summit: What A Difference One Person Can Make!
Thursday, March 15th 5 PM at the Cary Arts Center
The theme of the 2012 Sister Cities Association of Cary Citizen Diplomacy Summit is “What A Difference One Person Can Make!” The summit includes a panel discussion, moderated by WUNC’s Frank Stasio, host of The State of Things, an Expo, reception and a special appearance by the Sacrificial Poets (www.sacrificialpoets. com) who will show a documentary depicting their 2011 Egyptian and Tunisian experiences. The event is free and open to the public but seating is limited, so registration is requested; to register visit the SCA website at www.sistercitiesofcary.org.

Table Tennis Clinic and Exhibition

Bond Park Community Center

This is a free clinic offered by the Cary Table Tennis Association for beginning players of all ages. Topics taught will be the forehand drive, backhand drive, forehand block, backhand block, underspin (backspin), topspin, footwork, strategies, and development of a plan to train and improve your performance. This clinic will take place before the start of a major 4-star national level table tennis tournament. For more information, call (919) 601-1914. Ages 7 and up.

Bond Park’s 17th Annual Kite Festival is a fun way to spend the afternoon flying your kite. There will be an expert kite flyer on hand for stunt kite demonstrations. Certificates and special awards will be awarded in a variety of kite flying categories. Registration begins at 12:30 PM and the fun begins at 1 PM . This is a FREE event for kids of all ages.
