If a location close to central Kansas City is not as important then some buyers in this price range may choose to drive farther South into Johnson County Ks to review the housing options in Overland Park. If you want to be close to the Country Club Plaza, Mission Hills could be your dream neighborhood.

In the last 16 months 4 homes at Wilshire South have sold and closed. Compared to the previous report, the sales trend is down. Tighter credit seems to have hurt the demand for first time buyers. The move up buyers, who are interested in living in Wilshire South, generally need to sell their current home and some of them are having a hard time doing that. The $8,000 homebuyer stimulus package is helping move the first time home buyer market, so it should eventually trickle up to Wilshire South and neighborhoods similar to it such as Somerset Brooke or Amesbury Lake.
