As a Portland Realtor I quite enjoy the Irvington neighborhood and homes for sale. There is a special beauty about many of those homes that is hard to put into words, but once you are there and into many of these homes you will understand why the Irvington neighborhoods is a highly sought after place to live in Portland.

Irvington is bordered by Alameda, Grant Park and the Sabin neighborhoods. Irving Park located off of NE
Fremont and 10th is an excellent place to walk the dog, play some sports or picnic under the trees. The tree-lined streets are filled with friendly neighbors and kids playing in the streets. Backyard barbeque's and yard sales are frequent during the sun-shiny days.

Most Portland Realtors I speak with always have high regards for the Irvington neighborhood. A home in particular that I remember was this one gorgeous home off of NE 16th that had a stunning front yard landscape job that had a rock garden surrounding a variety of fruit trees. As you entered the home you saw an open floor plan where the kitchen, dining room and living room were seamless perfect. Hardwood floors and a fireplace fit for a king. The spacious upstairs master bedroom had a bathroom that was more like a day spa and a balcony that overlooked a backyard paradise. The basement level was my favorite and made for an entertainer that can keep a party going all night.

If you are relocating to Portland or a local but unfamiliar with certain neighborhoods, make sure you ask your Portland Oregon Realtor to view Irvington. If you do not have a Portland Realtor I am ready to be that person and would be excited to show you all of these great hot spots. Ready to view many of these beautiful homes for sale in Portland? After recently viewing around 50 Portland homes for sale, I realize that Portland has some of the most beautiful homes I have seen. I have traveled to many cities, and each city does boast their "Street of Dreams", but Portland has such a unique and creative touch that in my opinion nothing compares.

In the Irvington and Laurelhurst neighborhoods there are so many well crafted stunning and solid homes. Floor plans that completely flow and backyards that are like mini vacation resorts. Spacious bedrooms with balconies and bathrooms for a queen. Click to view some of these Portland homes for sale.
In the Hawthorne District and Alberta Arts, I came across so many homes that had the artistic personality of the owners built into the home. Murals on the basement walls, Mosaic staircases, Handcrafted wood fences and kitchens that a creative chef would die for. Click here to view some of these Portland homes for sale.

Portland has so many unique and charming areas scattered around that make this city one of the best choices for a future Portland relocation. If you are looking to escape sweltering heat, high density traffic, unhealthful smog levels, an unacceptable crime rate, unfriendly neighbors and a lack-luster nightlife and day scene then I would strongly recommend Portland, Oregon as one spot on the map that can completely change your life for the better.

If you are a long time resident, some of your favorite neighborhoods in Portland are probably in inner SE and NE Portland. In the inner Southeast just to name a few, the Buckman neighborhood is one of my favorite neighborhoods and is walking distance to everything that I love about Portland. Sellwood is full of antique shops and classic old homes, the Hawthorne district has a wide variety of local pubs and live music venues.
Just to name a couple, In the inner Northeast The Alberta Arts district has last Thursday that brings in several local Portland talents taht set up booths while hubndreds of locals walk and browse the streets. The Laurelhurst neighborhood has beautiful luxury homes, fine-dining restaurants awesome shops and a gorgeous park and duck pond.

As a full-time Portland Oregon Realtor I have the honor of entering into many of these beautiful Portland homes for sale. If you are curious about the inner SE Portland homes for sale, you can expect to find awesome Craftsman, Old-PDX Style and Foursquare homes. Goose Hollow - Portland Oregon Realtors love this neighborhood, Portland relocation in style.

Goose Hollow Zip Code 97201 is located in SW Portland. Goose Hollow neighborhood is bordered by the Arlington Heights, Nob Hill, The Pearl District, and Downtown neighborhoods. Goose Hollow was named after the migrating geese who used to stop there to gather. It acquired its distinctive name through early residents’ practice of letting their geese run free throughout the wooded hollow in the Tualatin Mountains. Goose Hollow has one of the highest rated schools in the Portland School district. Lincoln HighSchool brings families all across the US moving into Portland.

I personally love driving through Goose Hollow in Southwest Portland just to enjoy the beautiful architecture of all of these homes and Condo's. As a Portland Realtor, I have the honor of entering into many of these gorgeous floor plans and paradise backyards. Goose Hollow Condos and town homes can be Penthouses with ultimate privacy, masterfully designed with great views and contemporary styles. The MAX Light Rail system travels through the neighborhood, stopping at the PGE Park, Kings Hill/SW Salmon and Goose Hollow/SW Jefferson St stations. Whether you commute to downtown or west to Beaverton or Hillsboro, it's a easy walk down the to a MAX stop from most parts of the neighborhood. Goose Hollow is also served by two major freeways: Interstate 405 (which divides it from Downtown Portland) and U.S. Route 26.

PGE Park is a multi-purpose sports facility located on the north edge of Goose Hollow. I think everyone is still waiting for Major League Baseball to come to Portland, but PGE is a bit too small to house such a large crowd. PGE Park is home to the Triple-A Baseball Portland Beavers and professional soccer’s Portland Timbers. The Timbers are a member of the United Soccer League and in 2011 they will join the major ranks when they play in the MLS. (not the Multiple Listing Service :) Thinking of the perfect city to relax in...The October 2007 issue of Money Magazine named the Goose Hollow neighborhood as one of the best places to retire. The article states that, "Goose Hollow is walking distance to Washington Park, which is home to the Japanese Garden, the International Test Rose Garden and the Hoyt Arboretum. Goose Hollow's Walk Score is in the 90's out of 100, meaning this is one of the most walkable neighborhoods in Portland. Check out my Portland relocation guide if moving to Portland Oregon is on your Horizon.

As one of the original residential areas in Portland, Goose Hollow is marked by turn-of-the-century homes." A charming neighborhood, with a delightful mix of old and new. Goose Hollow's streets are lined with older Portland homes dating from the turn of the century. Some former homes have been converted into law offices, coffee shops and other businesses, making this area a mix of residential and commercial. You can also expect to find many apartments, condo's, duplex's and multi-plex's. Goose Hollow is home to some of Portland's oldest dining establishments. If you have been thinking about relocating to Portland Oregon, be sure to learn more about these Portland neighborhoods and Portland schools. The Pearl District - The Most walkable neighborhood in all of Portland.

Kevin Levy
The Pearl District is located in the Portland City center in NW Portland. It is, in my opinion, one of the most walkable neighborhoods in all of Portland. Every direction you walk, there is something to do such as shops, restaurants, pubs, cafe's, art galleries, live music, museums, boutiques, grocery, clothing and everything else you can imagine under the sun. Located just east of Nob hill, People moving into The Pearl District should take the day off, buy a new pair of shoes and get ready to explore. According to the Pearl District Business Association, Thomas Augustine, a local gallery owner, coined the name Pearl District more than 10 years ago to suggest that its industrial buildings were like crusty oysters, and that the galleries and artists' lofts within were like pearls. The Pearl district is located just north of downtown Portland between West Burnside Street on the south, the Willamette River on the north, NW Broadway on the east and the Interstate 405 freeway on the west. The Portland Streetcar serves the Pearl District and runs a 4.8 continuous loop from Portland State University District to Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital at NW 23rd Avenue. The Streetcar connects to the MAX rail line which runs from Downtown Portland to Gresham to the east and Hillsboro to the west. Let's not forget Powell's Books, a major Portland icon and is one of the world's largest independent bookstores in the United States and occupies a full city block between NW 10th and 11th Avenues and Burnside and Couch Streets. The Emerson School is in downtown Portland in the Pearl District is a K-5 charter school with good reviews. In The Pearl District you can expect to find glorious lofts, spacious townhomes and high rise Condo's with breathtaking views. Many decaying industrial warehouses in downtown Portland in The Pearl were converted into luxurious properties within the last decade. You won't find many streets lined with single family residential homes as you would find in most other Portland neighborhoods. A Portland Oregon Relocation into the Pearl district, can be a bit spendy, but families from around the US move to Portland to live in the Pearl. The average sale price for property in The Pearl District is around $619,000 and average year built is around 1991 with an average square ft. of 1280. The district includes most of the historic North Park Blocks (1869) as well as Jamison Square (2002) which is built around a fountain which simulates a tidal pool (very popular with toddlers) and Tanner Springs Park (2005) is a recreated natural area featuring wetlands, a walking trail, and creek. There are so many shops that run up and down the streets that it would be futile to try to list them all. I would suggest viewing the WalkScore map to see every walkable place of interest in the Pearl. You can also see how walkable your home address is. Search for the Walkscore icon every time you click on a property to view in The Pearl District.
