Smithville Texas is located in Bastrop county, approximately 14 miles east of the town of Bastrop just off of Highway 71. Beautiful trees and historic homes have made it the choice for the filming of two major motion pictures. The Colorado River runs through town, and downtown has antiques and shops of all kinds.
Rosanky Texas - Located on FM 535 eleven miles south of Bastrop near Smithville in southern Bastrop County, Rosanky's first settlers in the area arrived in 1854. Originally known as Snake Prairie and renamed Eagle Branch in 1884, the community was renamed Rosanky in 1893 in honor of its first pioneer Prussian family member and land donor, Ed Rosanky. The full service equestrian center, Rock-C-Ranch, is located in this small rural community.
Elgin Texas is located in Bastrop County, on Highway 290, approximately 15 miles east of Austin. Founded in 1872, as a stop for the railroad, Elgin is best known for producing sausage and for The Elgin Brick Company.
Paige Texas is located on Highway 290 East, two miles East of Highway 21, in Basrop county. Most of the area is rural and thick with Oak trees and a generous amount of Pine trees. Farm and ranch enthusiasts really love the large tracts of land still available in this area.
