Now is a great time to buy a home

Most people think now is NOT a great time to buy a home with the stock market, the bank bailout and economy in uncertain times. But if you have a nest egg and good credit, now is an excellent time to buy a home.

Just consider this: healthy supply of inventory to choose from, low interest rates and if a seller is "committed" to selling, a buyer can find an excellent home for less money than they were expecing to pay. Keep that home as an investment for 3-5 years and the value is sure to increase. Just think a safe place to invest your money, wow what a great thought!

Did you know that the Austin City Council is considering an ordinance that would require you to install energy efficient upgrades to your home before you can sell your property? This mandate would require homeowners to obtain a "Certificate of Compliance" from the City of Austin before homeowners can sell their homes. Why Round Rock?

Why Round Rock? As a 14 year resident of Round Rock, my husband and I believe it is a great place to raise our two daughters.

Living here gives you the convenience of a large city and the Capital of our great State just a few minutes down IH-35 and all the beauty of the Texas Hill Country just a short drive and a picnic lunch. In one day's drive you can go to Wimberley for lunch and shopping, swing over to Johnson City to visit the LBJ Ranch and stop at Nutty Brown's in Dripping Springs for live music on the way home. Now can Dallas or Houston do that? Nope, you can barely get across town without having to stop for lunch if you were in Houston.

In January of 2007 Round Rock as named "One of the 100 Best Communities for Young People" in part, because students identified as the most at-risk for not graduating are encouraged to participate in the New Directions-New Horizons Program, where students learn valuable skills to assist them in life success. The students can study, visit diverse work environments, and improve their financial literacy. In addition, students tour corporations, businesses and college campuses, demonstrating the firm support of the Round Rock community. Click Here for Full Article

Then there are the schools - Round Rock Independent School District boasts 9 Exemplary rated Elementary Schools, 15 Recognized schools and none rated as unacceptable. The annual dropout rate is just 0.4% and more than 85% of the district's graduating seniors take the SAT and ACT college entrance exams, scoring well above state and national averages. And last but certainly not least, we still feel like it is a somewhat of a small town, I know the population has tripled over the last decade and we no longer have the regular Wal-Mart at IH-35 and Hesters Crossing, Garden Ridge is now dwarfed by La Frontera (I used to think it was HUGE) and now there are - what 27 Dell Buildings - but I can still eat dinner at El Matador downtown and run into to at least two people who I personally know or are friends of a friend! Now that's still a small town and in my opinion a great place to live!

Welcome!
