Have a wonderful weekend and get out to enjoy the early fall weather!
We have such a gem in the St. Louis Zoo. It is FREE to the public and a terrific day for all ages.
The Saint Louis Zoo began it's journey in 1904 at the time of the Worlds Fair in celebration the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. The long and slow process to establish a zoological park began. Sure enough, local pride in the giant elliptical bird cage led to formation of a St. Louis Zoological Society in 1910. 77 acres in Forest Park was set aside by the City of St. Louis for a zoo and named a Zoological Board of Control in 1913. State legislation provided that "the zoo shall be forever free," which has kept the Zoo accessible to millions of visitors ever since....are rare trait for Zoos anywhere.
The Zoo is open every day, except December 25 (Christmas Day) and January 1 (New Year's Day), from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Holiday Hours and Early Closings:
Admission to the Zoo is FREE although there are fees for some attractions.

Make the most of your day at the Zoo with a Safari Pass. This one-day pass is $10/person and includes admission to the Children's Zoo, Zooline Railroad, Sea Lion Show (while in season), Conservation Carousel, Motion Simulator and 3-D Movie (while in season).
