What's Happening This Weekend In Wilmington, NC

Sun, Sand and Surf Longboard Classic to take place on May 2 at the North end of Wrightsville Beach, Access No 4. $ 35 fee for the the 1st evet and an additional $ 20 for each additional event. Rain date is June13. Contestants win $100 for 1st prize and $ 50 for 2nd prize. Entry deadline is May 1. If spots are available folks can enter on the day of the event.

Film series to begin on the Battleship NC. Called the Fabulous Fantail Film Festival movies will be shown at 8:30 on May 1, 8 and 22. Cost:$ 1.00. for more info http://www.battleshipnc.com/.

Riverfront Farmers Market - 8 - 1 pm on Saturday - on Front St by the river, fresh veggies, meat, flowers, plants, handmade products for sale.

Come down to the Kure Beach on Dow street for the Kure Beach Festival Family . This is an all day event with fun and games for the family. There will be food, drink, games. things to buy and of course the gorgeous beach and pier where you can watch the fish jump right on the hooks. This is a fun event for all to enjoy. 37th Antique Automobile show is at Independence mall. Over 125 cars will be showcased that are over 25 years old. Car enthusiasts will love it.

Cowboy Crush ( like Dixie Chicks) trio to perform at Thalian Hall on Friday at 8pm. Tickets are 26 and 20 dollars.

Riverfront Farmers Market is open on Saturdays on Riverfront Park from 8am to 1 pm. Features local produce and fresh goods from local famers.

R & B Band, Black Joe Lewis and the HoneyBears. - Greenfield Lake Amphitheater , downtown Wilmington, April 28, Gates open at 6 pm.

The Coastal Living Expo will take this place this weekend Sat and Sun featuring all kinds of vendors and coastal products to enhance your lifestyle at the beach. This will take place downtown at Cape Fear Convention center.

The RIms on the River vintage car show will take place Saturday downtown on Front Street from Orange to the Cape Fear Community College Campus. See vintage cars alldating from 1980 or older.
