Missing pet alert in Lancaster County! Tri-Colored Basset Hound - 1.5 years old.
If you family, or someone you know, recently adopted or took in a young Basset Hound dog ~ please read this article on the Lancaster Newspapers.
A Lancaster County resident, Darren Frey, had been severely ill for several months and was told by his doctors that he should get his affairs in order. While in hospice, friends and family tried to decide what to do with his beloved dog, Dodger, who is a 1.5 year old tri-colored basset hound. If you don't know what a Basset Hound looks like, think of the Hush Puppies dog.
Miraculously, Frey recovered. But in the meantime, his beloved dog was given away, as his friends and family thought it was best that they find a new home for him.
Now, they are hoping for his return.
This man has already been given the miracle of life ~ hopefully a Christmas miracle will occur and his dog will be found.
If you have Dodger, or if you know of who might have adopted him ~ please consider what a tremendous gift you would be giving to this man if you were to return him.
Christmas miracles do happen. I hope one of them in this case is the return of "the artful" Dodger.
If you think you might have Dodger, or know who does, please click on the Lancaster Newspaper article above for the phone number of who to call.
Please re-blog this ~ hopefully if enough people are alerted Dodger will be found and returned to his thankful owner.
Here is a recap of last year's 12 Days of Listing.

Day #3 of The 12 Days of Listing (Your Lancaster Home for Sale) Day 3
Do you have a Home for Sale in Lancaster County, or one that you are thinking of Listing for sale within the next few weeks? I've been getting into a holiday mood, and thought it might be helpful if I shared my rendition of The 12 Days of Christmas as The 12 Days of Listing -- or -- How to Prepare Your Lancaster Home for Sale in 12 days!
3. On the 3rd Day of Listing (your Lancaster home):
Clean out the attic! Yes, the buyer will want to take a look in the attic, even though you are scared out of your wits of going up there! And no, it's not because of any ghosts or other parallel universe beings (unless you live in one of those haunted Lancaster homes!) You're terrified of going up there because you'd have to face the decades of clutter you've accumulated!
Yes, that means all those Christmas decorations that you haven't used in decades because the bulbs burned out and you never found replacements (and never bothered looking). The boxes of knotted stringed Christmas lights, you know... the ones where you can't find the ends and when you do they aren't the kind that connect to each other, so you never used them? Ditch them now! And how about those artificial wreaths that you've been hoarding all these years? Yes, the ones that the mice have decided to call home? They need to go too. And the flourescent green foil artificial Christmas tree? Really? Did you think you would ever use that again? Chuck it all! I'm sure you get my drift by now!
You should not have to worry about someone tripping over grandma's old overstuffed trunk because you didn't bother to replace the burnt out lighbulb at the top of the attic stairs -- so do what you can to make it easy to get around and well-lit.
It's time to organize the attic, get rid of what you don't need. Your new buyer will appreciate it if he/she is not at risk of having a mound of scary junk falling on their head. At least if the attic is well-lit, they'll be able to see it and can dodge it! Otherwise, They will think the house is haunted, and they will run, leaving their agent (me) behind to deal with locking up the house on her (my) own. Show your new buyer what a usable space your attic can be when it's not crammed with stuff! Show them how roomy it is, and how it would fit all of their own useless junk!
You want your attic to look organized, clean, well-lit and spacious! This is much more important than you might realize!

2. On the 2nd Day of Listing (your Lancaster home):
Clean out your cabinets! Yes, you know those dark, scary corners under the bathroom sink? It's time to get rid of the case of soap bars that you have stuffed in your bathroom vanity cabinet. You know the ones -- the ones you bought on sale only to find you've had an allergic reaction to them. No, the buyers won't want them either. And the dried up tube of anti-itch medication you‘ve kept just in case you used that soap again? Ditch that too.
Cleaning under the kitchen sink. Yes, you can plan on getting rid of the tons of grocery plastic bags you've been tossing under there for the past 3 years, just in case you need them. Nobody need 50 plastic grocery bags. How about reusing them the next time you go grocery shopping! That's a much better idea than ditching them. No, the new buyers won't want these either, so no excuses!
You know those "junk drawers" so stuffed you can hardly open them? You guessed it. Time to get crackin' and pry them open and dump them out! You think buyers won't look in there? You're wrong. They will, and they might even rummage through them! Of course it's not because they're nosey, it's because they need to see if there really is a drawer under all that stuff! Plus, they need to evaluate if it will hold all of their junk. Time to toss the magic markers that no longer work, time to ditch the bent paper clips you've been saving "just in case". Hey wait!! Is that my Business Card magnet in there? Why is it in your "junk drawer?" Okay, I'll over look it for now. But just this one time!
You want your cabinets and drawers to look organized, clean and spacious. This is much more important than you might realize!

The 12 Days of Listing (Your Lancaster Home for Sale)
Do you have a Home for Sale in Lancaster County, or one that you are thinking of Listing for sale within the next few weeks? I've been getting into a holiday mood, and thought it might be helpful if I shared my rendition of The 12 Days of Christmas as The 12 Days of Listing -- or -- How to Prepare Your Lancaster Home for Sale in 12 days!
1. On the First Day of Listing (Your Lancaster Home):
De-clutter your closets!
Are you still saving those parachute pants from the 80's? How about the disco outfit? Seriously, it's time to get rid of them. Trust me. Clean out your closets -- if you haven't worn something for over a year (or a decade), it's time to donate it to charity. If it's un-wearable because it's stained, torn and worn, please just ditch it as charity deserves better than that.
Pick up the dirty clothes from the closet floor, and put those in the hamper. Yes, you know who you are, and no, we don't need to see those dirty skivvies.

Organize your shoe racks -- or better yet, buy shoe racks! Invest in some nifty and economical closet organizer systems. If you really have too many clothes that you just can't part with, try putting away seasonal clothes and storing them elsewhere - such as a rented storage space (because believe me, you will need it by the time we get to Day 12!)
You will need to have your closets to look organized, clean and spacious. This is much more important than you might realize!
Stay Tuned for Day 2 of "The 12 Daze of Listing" your Home for Sale!

According to the Central Penn Business Journal -- one of my favorite local reads -- here are some Christmas and Holiday things to plan for this weekend in the Central Pennsylvania area:
1. Brenda Lee Christmas Show
Brenda Lee proves you can't put an expiration date on talent. The country-pop singer from Georgia became popular with her 1957 hit "One Step at a Time" and has been a star ever since. Lee's powerful voice and cross-genre talents have earned her a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. "Little Miss Dynamite" will perform a holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Strand Theatre in York.
2. "Sounds of the Season" with Lancaster Symphony Orchestra
The Lancaster Symphony Orchestra will perform its second "Sounds of the Season" holiday concerts at the Barshinger Center for the Musical Arts on the campus of Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster.
3. Holiday Concerts at Whitaker Center
Those who have a hankering for all things Christmas can plan to spend an evening, or two or even three at the Whitaker Center's Sunoco Performance Theater in Harrisburg.
4. George Balanchine's "The Nutcracker"
Sugar-plum fairies, toy solders and snowflakes are brought to life in George Balanchine's most celebrated ballet.
5. Kenny Rogers in concert
The holidays are right around the corner and Grammy Award-winner Kenny Rogers is prepared to get you in the Christmas spirit.
6. "2008 Christmas Show"
The American Music Theatre's "Christmas Show" is a seasonal extravaganza of dance, music and comedy that offers the perfect remedy to the holiday blues.
7. "Seven Pounds"
Academy Award nominee Will Smith rejoins "The Pursuit of Happyness" director and producers for an emotional drama that promises to keep audiences guessing until the final scene.
8. "In Venice"
Gallery dePaul's December exhibition "In Venice" brings the essence of Venice to the walls of the Red Rose City.
9. CHRISTMAS WEEKEND: "Santa vs. The Snowman 3D"
Be there when Santa and the Snowman settle their differences - in 3-D. "Santa vs. The Snowman" starts a holiday run at the Whitaker Center's Select Medical IMAX Theater Dec. 23.
10. CHRISTMAS WEEKEND: "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"
"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," the highly anticipated film starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, is slated to open Christmas Day in theaters nationwide.
