Recycle Your Christmas Tree No Matter Where You Live!

There are so many ways to recycle your Christmas tree these days, it's really wonderful!

Check out www.earth911.com and put a search in for Christmas trees and your town and state and it will tell you what your area and the surrounding areas do to recycle your Christmas trees.

  • You can also recycle your trees yourself by just dragging it to the backyard for a natural habitat for your backyard wildlife.
  • While it's outside you can put peanut butter and bird seed coated pine cones and suet on it for the animals.
  • You can prune the branches and use them as a winter mulch on your perennials.
  • The pine needles are also an excellent mulch for acid loving plants.

Many treehuggers out there just buy a faux Christmas tree and then reuse it yearly.

I think the ultimate in green Christmas trees is just using a potted Norfolk Pine tree and keeping it indoors year round. These are slow growers so it pays to buy a big one since you'll see little change in size and get the biggest impact.
