Dog Park Comes to Franklin

Dog-lovers, it's true! In the annual Franklin Parks and Recreation Fun Guide, it was announced on page 5 that Province Park will be the home to the new Franklin Dog Park. You can purchase your Dog Park membership at the Recreation Center. The Grand Opening will be Spring 2009. Membership prices are as follows: $45 for the first dog and $20 each additional dog. If you live within the Franklin city limits you receive a discount ($30 for the first dog and $10 each additional dog). I know my pooches, Colin and Corsen, will enjoy the new dog park and I hope yours will too!

More New Year's Eve fun - for the over 21 set

Ring in the new year in celeb style!

Join Z 99.5 FM personalities Smiley, KJ, Weedman, B-Moore, Dave Decker, Scott Sands and Carlos Diaz from Extra will usher in 2009 with a New Year's Extravaganza starting at 8 PM on New Year's Eve (December 31, 2008) at Valle Vista Country Club. Tickets are $19.99 (advance sale) or $39.99 (at the door). According to their website (http:www.carlosdiaznewyear.com) there will be three main rooms featuring three different types of music - country, 80s and 90s retro and hip-hop/dance. There will also be a Karaoke area and a Movie Grotto. This is sure to be the "happenest" party on the southside of Indy, if not in the entire metro Indy area! They are also offering free food and champagne toast at midnight. I'm thinking of stopping by (still need to purchase my tickets as well) and hope to see you there!

New Year's Eve - family friendly fun

If my children were to be around for New Year's Eve, we would probably check out the festivities at the Indiana State Museum.

This party will be held in the Governor Frank O'Bannonn Great Hall from 6 until 8. Local band - The Tides - will perform as well as "Peewinkle's Christmas Puppet Show". There will also be games, crafts, magicians and clowns and will conclude with a balloon drop at 8 PM.

Reservations required - please call 317.232.1637.
