The town of Lewes is abuzz with people and bikes and boats - all coming to see the arrival of the Lightship Overfalls.

"We plan to start the welcome home celebration around 2 PM at the slip. Please bring some munchies and the Overfalls will provide the rest. Sam and Mariah Calagione have donated some Dogfish Head beer so those of us who appreciate an excellent brew will be very satisfied. The public is welcome at our celebration so please tell your friends and neighbors if you think they would enjoy it."
I plan to go and bring my camera and maybe my video camera if the batteries are still good! For now, you can find more information at the Lightship Overfalls web site - http://www.overfalls.org
Details and more photos later today!

This morning I was taking my own advice and Googled my name to see what I had been up to lately. As I sipped my coffee and got to Page 4, I saw a quote in an article that I had totally forgotten about. There it was -
By expanding your knowledge of universal design, you’ll put yourself ahead of your competition, says Kathy Sperl-Bell, CRS®, SRES®, a salesperson with RE/MAX Realty Group in Lewes, Del., who has built her business around the boomer niche.
Then it came back to me. This article was published on Realtor Magazine Online back in August 2007, but here it was reprinted with permission at a site that focuses exclusively on Universal Design - Universal Design Living Laboratory.
That's the upside of the Internet and I guess it can also be the downside. If you are lucky enough to become a SUBJECT EXPERT and are interviewed or quoted a few times, your words can show up on many other sites and remain live for years to come. Ever since I became a Realtor only 8 years ago, I have been focused on the Boomer market. My husband is a Contractor and he too has been focused on working with the kind of clients who are planning ahead for their future. We have both been quoted many times in articles by the NY Times, appeared on newscasts both locally and regionally and lots of that terrific content is still available out there on the Internet.
Why not visit Universal Design Living Laboratory and Read the full article!
On any given night in Lewes, Delaware, there are more dinner parties being hosted than anywhere else in the country! At least that's what the Hostess for the Historic Lewes Farmer's Market Dinner reported last evening.

Maybe that's where the idea came from. First we all met at the Lewes Historical Society complex for a wine and cheese reception. Despite the forecast, it was a sunny late afternoon as we mingled and learned where we were going to be having dinner.

We were each given a card with the name of our Hosts, their address and directions! There were about 10 hosts at various homes throughout Lewes and each welcomed about a dozen people into their homes for delicious meals prepared with local produce. Our Hosts are known for their culinary talents and we had a great time with old and new friends. We all agreed that this should become a regular event. The Historic Lewes Farmer's Market has become popular with locals and visitors alike and this season looks to be bigger and better than ever!
What a perfect day for a Broker's Open House! All those April showers did produce some wonderful May flowers AND it's a beautiful sunny day. Between 12 and 3 pm, 15 agents came through my listing and 3 other homes in the town of Milton, Delaware.
ARE BROKER'S OPEN HOUSES EFFECTIVE IN YOUR MARKET?
Ask me in a few weeks if this one was effective. If any of today's agents end up working with the right kind of buyer, they were very impressed with what they saw. Will their buyer be qualified? Will they be able to get financing? Will they be looking for this kind of house in town? If they are, these agents will know where to take them.
This house is a renovated home in the Historic District. It was gutted and updated to today's standards for energy efficiency and comfort.

Using the principles of Universal Design, the home features 36" wide doorways on the first level, one entrance with no steps, lever door handles, a first floor master bedroom and spa bath with a curbless shower and more. This is the right home in which to "Age in Place"! See more!
