Lets Mardi Gras

Welcome to the celebration as we start Galveston's Mardi Gras Festivities. This is the 97th annual celebration for Galveston Island. The festivities were started back in1867.

For 12 days we have a ton of fun celebrating with many parades, balls, and just plain fun.

The first weekend of the event is January 26th and 27th. The highlight of this weekend is our parade down the historical Galveston Seawall. Personally this is my favorite parade. I think this parade is great because the crowds are not as large. In addition the parade happens right on the beach. What more could you ask for.

The following weekend is the big party taking place on February 2nd. This parade moved down 25th and into the historical Strand district. I participated in both events when I was involved with Treasure Ball. We had a great time. Be prepared for the large crowds on this busy weekend. Daytime festivities on the Strand are equally as fun. Less crowds but a ton of excitement for all. I would suggest families with young children coming during the day because this particular night can get a bit wild.

Loving the sand between my toes.

As an agent I have the opportunity to tell you about all the reasons why you should purchase a home in Galveston. After all this is my job right?

As a person I want to tell you why I think you should learn about Galveston from a visitors point of view. You can always buy a house but what you need is the passion and love most of us Galvestonians have.

I grew up in Galveston. My family has history on this island. My brother runs the company my parents started almost 40 years ago. I want future Galvestonians to feel like they are coming home before calling me to possibly buy or even rent a home. We all have reasons for moving. Take this from girl a who has lived in 4 states over the last 5 year. I commute now between Galveston and San Antonio. It is a ton of work but I am happy to finally say that I am on my way home for good at the end of February. I love San Antonio but I just can't live without the beach. My husband and I have sworn to never leave this island that we so love again. We have many reasons for this affection yet the main one is quite possibly plain and simple. The sand between my toes. The smell of the ocean air. The thrill of offshore fishing. A simple sunset like many that I have posted on my blog.

I can post a million different informational pieces about why Galveston is the place for you. I have learned that you can only educate the public not influence them. This is why our site, www.Galveston4sale.com is the best real estate site around. Not because of real estate but because of the real Galveston we try to highlight. Get to know the area, attractions and true island life. We feel our site gives you a direct look into the island.

I may be the worst agent in the world simply because I speak the truth and tell people like it is. Sometimes not the best philosophy for someone in the sales industry. My advice for anyone considering Galveston is simple. Come and see us for yourself. Don't call an agent who will try to sell you on our best qualities. Come experience them for yourself. After your visit call an agent if you are really interested in more information. Trust me you want be sorry.
