City Council Meeting in Aiken

Tonight the city council will meet at 7:00 pm. A few months ago University Health Services was turned down. They are back again tonight. This is going to be the "first" reading of an Ordinance to Amend the Concept Plan for University Health Services, Inc. Whether you are for or against University Health opening a new location on Silverbluff Rd, this is going to be a good meeting to attend.

Aiken starts to see job growth

The Savannah River Site hired 50 workers this past week start the accelerated clean up. SRS received $1.65 Billion in stimulus money which will pay the salaries of these, and more employees for the next three years. With this job growth I expect the local real estate market grow as well. If you've been "sitting on the fence" now is the time to get going!

Tea Party

The Aiken County Tea Party will be meeting today in the Alley in Down Town Aiken. They will be meeting from 1 to 5 and there will be several guest speakers. The Tea Party is a non-partisan, nationwide event designed to send a message to our representatives in Washington that we are fed-up with the tax and
spend politics that will bankrupt our nation for future generations.

Please show up and help support a good cause.

Buying in todays market

Worried about buying a home in todays market? It"s been covered, reviewed, analyzed and experienced to the nth degree, but in a constantly evolving market, analyzing your options on a constant basis means success. The real value of owning real estate is that its a real asset. It can't vanish overnight. As a property owner, I have a direct impact and control in the decision-making of a wise investment for the present as well as for the future. For those looking to buy a home that they will live in, you also get to enjoy your home. You have to approach the situation with this attitude: I live in my investment, that's why I'm buying a house. I can control my immediate environment because I have more freedom to do what I want on my personal property than with a rental property. I can personalize my home, it's mine. I can have pets, a pool; I can plant a peach tree. It's a long run great investment because it's more than an investment; it provides real service to me while I own it. Not to mention the tax considerations.I still have to live somewhere. The American dream of achievement; home ownership has an emotional aspect we all desire. Now is a time to make the American dream come true. At some point in each of our lives we all have felt the burning desire to have our own home, let me help you make that hap

The Fridge

Aiken's own William "Refrigerator" Perry, best known for his tenure as a defensive lineman for the NFL's Chicago Bears franchise, was recently hospitalized locally. The 46-year-old Perry was diagnosed with Guillain-Barrà syndrome (GBS), a nervous system disorder that can progress to complete paralysis, in June 2008.

It's sad to see someone you looked up to as a child that is now in such condition. I wish you the best fridge.
