Telling the Right Story

A house is like a story. Staged to Sell It must be weaved just right so that potential buyers can follow it from room to room and feel satisfied that it is saying all the right things. It must speak to them to capture their attention.Staged to Sell

There is nothing worse than buying a new book and getting to the second chapter with nothing to keep you interested in moving forward.Kym Hough

My favorite books are ones that get me excited to turn each page. I can't wait until I get to the end of a chapter and see what is around the next corner.Staged to Sell

A good story teller entices and lets your imagination run wild with the possibilities.

Kym Hough

By the time I am done with a great book I am sold on the idea that it is just the right one for me. I can't wait to buy more from that author and tell everyone about the adventure.

It's Christmas and Stagers are busy!

Usually, we Stagers can count on this time of year to be pretty calm. I look forward to it every year as it gives me time to work on my business and set up my marketing plans for the new year.

It's also the time that I get caught up with the numerous people I have almost ignored for the past 11 months as life is a bit crazier than it use to be and my trips to Santa Rosa to see old friends and family just don't happen as much as they use to.

We'll this year - it's not the case. We have lots going on staging, design to live and StagersLIST.com has been keeping us jumping - and the best part is we are not alone.

I was talking to one of my favorite local Stagers Nancy Clearythe other day. She is a fabulous Stager right here in Walnut Creek, California. She is not only fabulous at what she does but her spirit and enthusiasm is just wonderful.

It's the week before Christmas and she is running around like crazy staging and finishing up three other staging projects that have kept her hoping! We laugh everyone time we are on the phone together because we always end with - we really do need to get together for dinner or lunch soon - let's get a date on the calendar. We haven't set that date yet but we have really good intentions!

What this shows me is that what I have been saying all along. Staging is no longer a Nice to Have - It's a Necessity! We know it and now the public are getting it too!

The last three phone calls I received for houses are from Homeowners - not Realtors. They are now educated enough to know that they need to call us if they are selling - if they really want to sell.

I didn't ask Nancyif she is experiencing the same - but I bet it has some part of why she is so busy too.

It may be Christmas - but Stagers are Busy! For good reason - the homeowners are getting educated and know that no matter what time of year it is - if they are selling they need to call a stager.

Homeowners, Stop, Look, and Listen

It happens all the time...client's start working on a home prior to calling in a professional stager.

Number one thing they do is clear out All the clutter and paint everything white!!!!

If I could help homeowners out there the number one thing I would tell them is STOP. WAIT. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT with a Professional qualified stager before you do ANYTHING!

Of course, it's OK to clean the house including miscellaneous toys and paperwork on the counter, BUT don't go crazy taking things off the walls, replacing appliances, and painting without talking to a professional stager first. You would be amazed about how much money we can SAVE you!

www.staged-to-sell.com

Recently, my company was hired by a lovely client to prepare their home for market and do the enhancement staging. By the time they found my company they had spent $8,000 dollars on a very very bad paint job, minor repairs and some new appilances including an expensive wine cooler in a dated kitchen.

By the time we were brought in to the project that money was gone and so was the contractor who did the bad job.

What many homeowner's don't know is that a Professional Stager is THE Resource when working on a home and preparing it for market. Stagers help select the right color for the room (based on the flooring, the light, and furnishings in the room). We can help make educated decisions on what appliances, if any, to replace. NOTE: if it is a truly dated bathroom, just replacing a faucet can be a waste of money.

Moral of the story - call us first. Let us help you make educated decision and save you time and money. Preparing your home for market is a skill and a qualified experience professional Stager is the person who can apply that skill to your home - the most important product you will ever sell!
