Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market announced it will open the doors to its much anticipated store at Ontario & Rimpau on Wednesday, April 22, 2009. North Main Corona Metrolink Station Parking Structure

The new North Main Corona Metrolink Station parking structure will be a six story structure with a capacity of 1,065 parking spaces. The new structure will be located on half of the existing parking lot nearest to Main Street and will include two elevators, two entrances/exits, and a connecting bridge to the over crossing.
Cost: $25 million

Begins: January 7, 2008

Rideshare 2 Rails: RCTC provides preferred designated parking spaces for those who rideshare to the station. Click here to apply for a Rideshare 2 Rails permit.
Connecting Transit: Both the Corona Cruiser and RTA provide free connections for Metrolink ticket holders on all routes serving the North Main Corona Metrolink Station, including CommuterLink Route 206 following I15 from Temecula. Click here for a connecting transit map.
Park & Ride: The Corona Cruiser Red Line provides free shuttle service from the 50 space Taber Street Park and Ride lot off the I-15 at Ontario Avenue.
La Sierra Station: Approximately 7 miles east of the station, there is an average of 300 parking spaces available at the La Sierra Station.
Satellite Parking Lot: Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your train departure and drive to the new auxiliary lot at 400 E. Rincon Street at the corner of N. Joy Street and Princeland Court. RTA and the City of Corona operate free shuttle buses to and from this lot to meet trains at the station. Shuttles depart every five minutes serving all trains from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. RTA Route 3 serves passengers arriving and departing on all other trains.
Dropping off and Picking up : For your safety, the green curb along Blaine has been designated for passenger drop off and pick up. Furthermore, to ensure smooth evening traffic flow out of the parking lot, the entrance from Blaine WILL BE CLOSED from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. DO NOT PARK/IDLE IN PARKING LOT LANES, AISLES OR UNDESIGNATED SPACES. When exiting the parking lot in the evening please turn right onto Blaine as left cross traffic turns contribute to congestion and the risk of an accident.

"What are my parking options during the construction of the parking structure?"
1) Arrive earlier - Approximately 300 of the existing 563 parking spaces at the station will remain open during construction including additional Rideshare to Rails spaces.
2) Use the new satellite parking lot - Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your train departure and drive to the new auxiliary lot at 400 E. Rincon Street at the corner of N. Joy Street and Princeland Court. RTA and the City of Corona will initially operate three shuttle buses to and from this lot to meet trains at the station. Shuttles will depart every five minutes from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
3) Use the Riverside-La Sierra station - This will add 15 minutes to your commute to Los Angeles and $37.00 to the cost of your monthly pass. However, there are more than 300 available spots at Riverside La-Sierra Station, located just off the 91 Freeway at La Sierra Avenue.
4) Commuters traveling to LA Union Station - Consider riding the Riverside Line from the East Ontario Station located south of the airport or the Pedley Station near Van Buren Boulevard and Limonite Avenue.
5) Consider alternatives to parking altogether - RTA and the Corona Cruiser both serve the station and your bus ride is FREE as long as you are connecting to Metrolink. One option is to drive to the Park and Ride at Taber Street near I-15 and Ontario Avenue. For additional information contact:

"Will I keep the same fare price if I leave from La Sierra?"
No, those who opt to depart from La Sierra Station will pay an extra $37.00 for a montly pass to Los Angeles or Orange County.
"Why isn't RCTC using the lot at the old Burger King?"
The property is privately owned and the owner currently has alternative plans for its use.
"There is a big empty lot between the south end of the station and the 91, why can't this be used for parking?"
This property is owned by the Riverside Transit Agency and will be the site of a new transit center. Construction is scheduled to begin before completion of the parking structure.
"Where is the auxiliary lot?"
400 E. Rincon Street on the corner of N. Joy Street and Princeland Court.
"How early should I plan to arrive at the auxiliary parking lot?"
Plan to arrive at the auxiliary parking lot up to 45 minutes prior to your train's departure. You will need to determine what works best for your schedule.
"Will there be shuttle service?"
Yes, every 5 minutes in the morning 5:00 am to 8:00 am and the evening 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
"Will this auxiliary parking lot be available until the new parking structure opens? "
Yes, the agreement is for 12 months, but may be subject to change.
"What are the shuttle schedules?"
Shuttles depart the Auxiliary Parking Lot every 5 minutes from 5:00am to 8:00am and depart the North Main Corona Station every 5 minutes from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.
"How big will the shuttle be?"
25 to 40 passengers.
"Will there be a designated drop off/pick up area?"
Yes, at both the station and the auxiliary parking lot.
"Will they monitoring the lot to make sure it is only Metrolink riders?"
Yes, it will be monitored.
"Is there going to be additional security at the auxiliary lot?"
Security patrols and Corona Police will have a presence at the lot.

No, the traffic study did not warrant changes to the streets.

Affected portion of the lot will be closed the night of January 4, 2008 and will not be available for commuters starting January 7, 2008.

Yes, both online at www.rctc.org and at the station. Monthly construction updates and bulletins will be posted to communicate all relevant information.
"Who is going to build it?"
RCTC has awarded the construction contract to McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. of Newport Beach, CA.
FUTURE PARKING STRUCTURE

563 spaces.
"How much parking will there be after construction?"
Approximately 1,415 total spaces. 1,065 in the parking structure approximately 350 in remaining lot.
"Will I have to pay for parking after construction?"
No.
"Will there be multiple entrances/exits to the new structure?"
Yes, the structure will have two entrances/exits (one on Blaine, the other at the curve under the bridge).
"Will there be restrooms in the parking structure?"
No.
"Will there be shelters from rain/sun?"
The platform shelters will remain as they are.
"Will there be elevators?"
Yes, there will be two elevators within the structure.
"Will there be a bridge from the parking structure to the other side of the tracks so that passengers do not have to go down to ground level, then back up and over and then back down again?"
Yes, the bridge will connect the third level of the parking structure to the other side of the tracks.
