Dale Staggers - Dramatic Home Staging

Where Have I Been?

I have had emails and posts saying you miss my presence on the Rain. Thank you for your concerns and inquiries. I have missed receiving and sharing with you and mostly your wisdom and support. I am well and doing good. My home staging business was a bit slow here in Houston, so I sought other avenues which would benefit my home staing and re-design career. So I began working for JC Penney as a custom decorator and designer and I LOVE IT! Absolutely love it!

I meet so many wonderful clients, consulting with them in such beautiful homes. So many people ask me what is the difference between home staging and interior decorating/design. Most simply put I tell them decorating and undecorating is the difference. Personalize and de-personalize. And as a custom decorator, I have the opportunity to work with clients who are selling their homes and need tips and advice to stage their homes. So I am still doing home staging - but mostly from a consultation standpoint. I do hope to be able to get back to actually staging and re-designing, but my schedule is tight and demanding. And, I plan to be with JCP for quite some time.

I will be more active on the Rain now that my intensive training of 20 weeks is just about over. And I will be happy to share custom decorating tips and trends with you to help meet your clients needs - both staging and real estate.

Until next blog, Dale

Season 2 of The Stagers on HGTV

The Stagers on HGTV have make their impression on the home staging industry and have found away to really explain what staging really is about and how it benefits the seller. Having a better understanding of this business is what the general population needs. I am constantly networking and shocked as well as disappointed that so few people know about Home Staging or Real Estate Marketing. Where as my favorites HGTV progs, )Design To Sell, The Unsaleables, Get it Sold) do a fair job of depicting what staging is and can do for the home seller. The Stagers break it down, although rather dramatically (oh, that's my business tag line - 'Add Some Drama to Your Home To Get Top Dollar!'

If you like watching The Stagers on HGTV get ready for Season 2, Monday April 6, 10:30PM pt/et. Expect more drama and chaos, as always!

Yippee! I Made 10,000!

I'm so happy I finally made 10,000 points on the Rain. It's like that feeling when you get the anniverary pin for your first year on the job, or the birthday card your boss' boss sends you. You just feel good to know your efforts are paying off - the blogging, re-blogging, commenting and responding, the invitations and features.

Now, will it get easier to reach 100,000? OK, so it took me about 30 days to reach 10,000 and at 10,000 points a month I should be at 120,000 in March 2010. So that's my goal, to have 120,000 points by March 2010.

I just love Active Rain!

My name is Dale Staggers and I'm a Professional Home Stager in Houston, TX!

Dramatic Home Staging - "Add Some Drama To Your Home To Get Top Dollar"

Welcome to Active Rain - Courtney Williams, Mike Holmes, and Carolyn Fisher of Houston, TX

Everywhere I go I talk about Active Rain, my experiences on Active Rain and how I have benefited from the networking. And everytime I mention Active Rain, it surprises me how few real estate professionals here in Houston, TX have heard about it. But this week I had the priviledge of staging a property for Courtney Williams and through my invitation she joined.

Then, on Wednesday I made a presentation to Weichert Realtor's, Wayne Murray Properties in Houston, TX. During my presentation I mentioned Active Rain and as a result we have two new members: Carolyn Fisher and Mike Holmes.

So please join me in welcoming Courtney Williams of Quality Properties and Mike Holmes and Carolyn Fisher of Weichert Realtors, Wayne Murray Properties.

Now, I challenge all 138,736 members to invite a colleague, co-worker, supervisior, client, etc. to become a part of the Rain and be showered with knowledge, encouragement, friendship, and leads.

The Open House Was A Huge Success!

This Open House was a great success! This was a unique staging project in that the home is a product for a community revitalization project in Houston. Due to some concerns of the owner, I did not bring in any furniture except two parson chairs. There was a dining room table (no chairs) and a china cabinet where the hutch lacked the glass shelving (We removed the hutch and staged it as a buffet). I was not allowed to hang curtains or wall art, either. So my staging was limited to mostly the kitchen and bathrooms, as you can see from the pictures (MLS #4702302). But it was fun - the broker, Andrea Cooksey of Quality Properties and the agent, Courtney Williams are great to work with, too. The broker was so impressed and pleased with the outcome, that she is scheduling an agent's open house. For that event, we will furnish the living room and two of the three bedrooms. But, the open house was a success and I know they'll get an offer soon. As for the second staging job that was scheduled, it was re-scheduled to be staged later this week, for another open house on next Sunday.
