Kids invited to free Easter Egg Hunt at the Timbers of Shorewood

Local children of all ages and their families are invited to the 5th annual Hippity-Hop Easter Egg Hunt from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 11, at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood.

At noon, toddler age children from one to three years-old will participate in an indoor egg hunt in a balloon-filled room. The outdoor egg hunt on the Timbers' grounds is for all children ages one and up beginning at 12:30 p.m.

The egg hunt will feature prizes for everyone, along with plenty of kid-friendly entertainment including:

· Photos with the Easter Bunny

· "A Zoo to You" Petting Zoo consisting of 20-30 animals including: goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, rabbits, pot bellied pig, mini donkey, llama and calf.

· Caricatures by Dan Laib

· Juggler Mike Vondruska

· Magicians from Society of American Magicians, Joliet Chapter

· Moon walk jump-and-fun

· Games and prizes

· Cartoons

· Sweet snacks, popcorn, cookies and hot chocolate

The Timbers of Shorewood is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services.

Jim Zilinsky of Zilinsky Financial Services will give a presentation on taxes and how they relate to seniors at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 30, at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Road, Shorewood. Zilinsky will discuss deductions for seniors, charitable contributions, how Social Security is taxed, and how the 7-1/2% adjusted gross income works with medical deductions.

Seniors face very different tax issues than younger people as there are several senior tax issues that only apply to people age 60+, such as: annuities benefits, long-term care and social security benefits.

Zilinsky Financial Services (ZFS) provides assistance in the planning of company, as well as individual, overall financial affairs. ZFS serves as an adviser to provide current and accurate information in the areas of life and health insurance, long term care and retirement planning.
