How do you spell relief?...

...hopefully not R-O-L-A-I-D-S?! Nothing against the drug maker, but that means that you're allowing life's pressures get to you and you're stressed out to the max! Granted this is a tough time in our nation's history with the bad economy, deteriorating housing market, job losses, businesses closing; the list goes on and on.

I offer one simple solution that will not solve all of these problems, however, it should help to cope because it certainly does for me.

  1. Define precisely what it is that allows you to relax, get away from it all, regenerate, recharge your battery, etc.
  2. Be specific. Is it a weekend getaway (across town to another couple's house to be cost effective if need be), dinner and dancing, playing music, a picnic, etc.
  3. Disengage from all connectors for the weekend, if not for a day; i.e. laptops, cell phones, email, etc. If you are unable to do this step it will be very difficult for you to relax completely.

So, once again I ask..."How do YOU spell RELIEF?"
