Christmas is Over

I actually like winter time here in the North Georgia Mountains! All the folige is down, except those American Beeches that hang on for another month, so you can see for miles! Or you can see right next door....depending on where you're standing! Most people come to the mountains to get away from their neighbors, privacy amongst the natural beauty of the forest is still the number one draw for this locale. But there are those that actually prefer closer living, be it that they are more secure with close neighbors, or it is just their level of comfort, what they are used to "back home". We do have wonderful values in Condo and zero lot line homes up here in the Georgia Mountains. The condos are especially good deals and can be rented to weekenders when you are not using the property. The real plus with condos is their location. From most you can actually WALK to golf, swimming and how weird is this....hiking! The up keep is handled by the Condo association, another layer of dues, I am afraid, but with that cost the outside insurance is also included. I have enclosed a front picture of one of our listings, if you are interested in this or any other investment or weekend property, please drop me a line or give me a buzz at: 678-665-9276.

My Open House in Big Canoe is getting closer! I experienced a set back when the local newspaper did not post my ad in the MONTHLY newspaper! I have had to go to Plan "B" because of that! I have posted an ad in the weekly paper which is not as market specific as the one that was missed, but it is what it is! Of course they put the ad on the bottom of the least likely place anyone would look!

Things that I have learned 101!!

1. Always ask to proof my ads or at least ask for receipt of the order from the newspaper, magazine, flyer.

2. Talk to marketing person and get some imput on placement.

3. Majorly smooze to see if that generates better customer service from these folks. The squeeky, and not nasty, wheel gets the grease and best spot in the newspaper, I'm thinking!

I am an old dog and am learning a new trick or two!

Come to my Open House and give me more tips if you have any!!

Traffic Jams

I just returned to the North Georgia Mountains from south of Atlanta and what a relief! First of all it is 10 degrees cooler here, some due to the ambient temperature (higher elevation, lower temp) and some from the incredible fauna coverage! Thick masses of trees displaying every imaginable shade of green never looked so good! And the traffic!!! Our only problem is getting behind someone poking along when I am in a rush! I'm not too sure if that really is a problem, though! I did have to stop for these guys the other day, the blur in the rear of the photo is a baby flying...something we don't see often, turkeys flying. Mostly they meander in packs, especially out of hunting season!

What happenin up here!!

Spring time is pushing it's way up here in the mountains. One day there are snow flurries the next it is 78 degrees! The wild azaleas are beginning to bloom, wild cherry and forsythia are well on their way and dogwoods are ready to pop! You would think that all this change would give us enough to do, such simple folks!! But no! It is time for the festivals and fun!! And do we have the events here in the Georgia mountains! We've got the awakening of the Vines and Bluegrass Brunch at the Wolf Mountain Vineyard every weekend in April...what an absolute gorgeous place! (Frogtown and Three Sisters are equally stunning, but "Awakening of the Vines"!!!! ) This area truly is reminiscent of Napa Valley in appearance, I'm not sure about the wine since I am a tee-totaler and not to be trusted! Take a trip up 400 to Dalonega and give yourself a treat! If that is not enough for you there is always the Sheep to Shawl at Lazy D Farm in Ball Ground on April 12. (That's up I-575) Check out blacksmithing, butter churning, quilting, woodworking, chair caning...you get the idea! Cost is $5 per car...what a deal!! And you thought that we just checked for fleas for fun!!
