Oceanside California-one of my favorite towns and coastal-wow! Just north of Carlsbad and just east of the Pacific Ocean lies lovely, picturesque, comely, winsome, magical Oceanside. Hows that for descriptive. And Oceanside is still one of the most affordable beach communities in all of San Diego county-really. The beaches are sprawling-some of the biggest and widest in the county. The Oceanside pier offers out-on-the-ocean fishing and even a restaurant at the end of the pier. The outdoor amphitheatre on the beach offers summer concerts and fast food delights. Single family homes and condos dot the shore line and flow east from the beach. Walk to downtown Oceanside and enjoy the numerous restaurants and entertainment that call Oceanside home. Oceanside is a happening place! Head south to the Oceanside Marina and check out the shops, the boats and more restaurants including at least two great sea food gatherings. By the way, Looking for a place to dock your boat, check out Oceanside-the most northerly dock in San Diego county. Head further east across the I-5 highway and you will find a big and sprawlin city with lots of residential communities throughout. Single family homes in every shape and size from new to older and one-of-a-kind, to condos in many price ranges and even of co-op high tower building overlooking the harbor. Need a home to keep your horse, Oceanside has that also. Lot sizes from postage stamp to multi acre...estate homes to Bungalows...its all here. This area has been growing and growing and growing. Are you interested in golfing-you know you can golf here 12 monrths of the year. With at least six public and private golf course including several located in some of our residential retirement subdivisions, you will never wonder where to golf. So whatever you are hoping to find in one coastal town; look no further-Oceanside has it all. Beaches, sports, great food, many entertainment venues, home prices for just about everyone's bank account.

Welcome to my first activerain blog post. As an real estate consultant in north San Diego county for the past 20 years and a full time real estate professional for over 35 years, I have decided its time for me to share what I know and have learned over the years. First of all, as a real estate agent specializing in 1-4 family homes and also multi-family homes, I feel confident that there are some great, great home buys right now in North County. In case you have never heard this before, San Diego is expected to be built out within the next 15 years-maybe less. What that means is...we are running out of land to build on. Couple that with the fantastic climate we have here, our proximity to the Pacific Ocean and the amount of people who still feel like moving here from all over the world on a regular basic..north county San Diego has it all. As a transplanted New Yorker/New Jersey and Connecticut habitant, I find this area of the country truly a dream come true. That is not to say that I dont love the north east. The Tri-state area is one of the most amazing places on planet earth but it is a vastly different part of the world an incomparable to southern Calfornia.
Carlsbad is located on the Pacific Ocean in North County-just above Encinitas and just below Oceanside and Camp Pendelton. With home prices varying tremendously-depending size, location, single family detached or condo-Carlsbad has it all. Having moved to Carlsbad in 1990, I have personally watched the explosive growth including new construction, manufacturing, major hotel chains including La Costa Spa and the Park Aviara Hyatt, both with their own amazing golf courses, and even Legoland USA. Along with growing population has come wonderful new restaurants, a gorgeous new golf course-The Crossings, Palomar-McClennan Airport, an extremely busy but small airport that even has a daily flight to Los Angeles. Did I mention that most of the major golf manufacturers including Titlelist, Callaway and Taylor Made. Wow, they certainly know where the best place is to play golf...Carlsbad CA.
Not only do we have access to so much here in Carlsbad, we also have almost perfect climate year round here. I still laugh when I remember the first year I moved here. I had trouble remembering the month it was since it was usually sunny and beautiful-60s and 70s and going a little higher in the summer. I was used to the more dramatic four seasons so it took me a while to accept the perfect weather twelve months out of the year but I did finally do just that.
As a full time real estate consultant here, I know that once you find your way to Carlsbad, you will become a fan of this town as much as I have. Its a easy place to live and hard to leave.
