LESLIE Roche (Reid) Your Real Estate Realtor

Negative to Positive

Well, I went on a listing appointment and as I entered the home, the homeowner took me straight into the kitchen. There it was, a very large bull frog and a smaller one in a large tank on top of the kitchen counter. I asked her if she could move the tank into another room and said she understood my concern but said she could not as the tank is too heavy to move and she cleans it out next to the kitchen sink. Well, my first reaction was to insist as it would be a big turn off for potential buyers to see a large frog on the counter. What came out of my mouth next was brilliant! I suggested to her that if she can't move the tank, lets make it a creative and humorous thing. I suggested that see make a tent sign with the frogs name (Lefty) and make it a funny and positive thing. Maybe the home buyers will say how cute, instead of YUCK!! It worked I sold the home, and in the process received many comments about lefty~

Great swimming in Ellington

Crystal Lake, the best little secret in Ellington. Crystal Lake Beach offers swimming lessions. Call the town rec center for more information. This lake is just the right size to bring your motor boat, canoe or sunfish! There is a sandy beach area, perfect for spreading out your blanket and have lunch or dinner! I have been going to Crystal Lake since I was a little girl. We used to rent a cottage, (lived only 8 miles away) and going to Jimmy's for a cannon ball. The good old days....
