A Plea for Your Child's Safety in Campton Hills!!!!

Although we have a big battle looming in Campton Hills, this is a non - partisan post. Both sides agree that we need to protect our children. As written in the Kane County Chronicle:

Police are notifying parents that a man in a blue mini-van approached two children and invited them to go to Bible study with him.

The two children, a 6-year-old girl and her 15-year-old brother, were approached at 3:15 p.m. Thursday on their way home from school at the intersection of Hunters Hill and Chaffield drives, Police Chief Greg Anderson said.

"He asked them to get into the vehicle and go to Bible study with him," Anderson said. "When the children refused, the vehicle sped off toward Route 64."

The children described the driver as a male white in his 30s with a slender build, dark brown hair and a receding hairline. No further description of the van is available.

Anyone with information about this or similar incidents is asked to call 630-584-0330 as police would like to identify the driver and vehicle to be certain of his motives, Anderson said.

"We are not saying there was criminal activity here, just suspicious," Anderson. "It could be legitimate but we've put out the message to the surrounding areas."

I ask you to be safe. Have your children stay together...This quick thinking 15 year old boy and his sister were smart to run away. Although crime has seemed to rear its head in Campton this past year greater than it has in the past, we need to educate, pray and watch over our children. Although this may be an innocent activity, we need to protect our own. Pass this on.

We all disagree as to whether or not Campton as government needs to exist, but we all agree that we need to protect our community.

Market Liquidity....A realtor asks is money more difficult to come by?

There sure have been a lot of turns and twists this year. Sub-prime results lagging from last year, the collapse of wall street this year, the bailout last week. Every lender seems to be on life support or being bought.

Just today I had a great agent at Keller-Williams call me with a perplexing question. We've been working with a client for about one month having her buy an REO. That fell through. She is now back in the market. Here's the question this realtor posed to me.

"Suzi Q (our client) wants to know with the fallout of the financial markets, should she go out and buy a home now? Truly, is it a wise decision? I heard that lenders aren't lending money to others now. Money is difficult to come by. Should we be buying a home or waiting til next year?"

Here's my answer....

The liquidity of the market is just fine. Our borrower is right....There are a lot of concerns in the market now. Banks are closing shop or being bought out. Major Wall Street firms are dropping like flies. But here's the reality. The irresponsible implosion of Countrwide hasn't reduced the flow of mortgage liquidity. B of A has absorbed Countrywide and will have the continuity in spite of Countrywide's demise. Wells Fargo and Citi have absorbed the collapse of Wachovia. The money hasn't left, it's just shifted. Ultimately, if all of these companies were to collapse, Fannie and Freddie still have liquidity. Even if Fannie and Freddie were to collapse, we have FHA!!!!

FHA has been escalated from just 3% of the market to now over 60% of the market. This is huge! The liquidity is here. The real question about this market is whether or not our client who works for a major auto company will have a job. Can she have a job working for a top auto maker? If not, then buying a home is stupid. If she's secure there really isn't a better time to buy.

When the economy rebounds home prices will escalate and with a strong economy, rates escalate as well. The liquidity is here.... The time to buy is now! Kane County and the entire Fox Valley, including Saint Charles, Geneva and Batavia are still strong areas to buy homes.

Vote Yes, Yes, Yes for the Dissolution of Campton Hills!!!!!! The time to Act is now!!!!

Driving around Campton Hills, formerly known as the great area of unincorporated Saint Charles and Wasco and saw a couple of vote no for the dissolution signs in their democratic, big government blue. I decided to give an snyopsis of my take on the importance of this issue. Additionally, below I have attached the flyer that's being passed around by the citizens opposing the new, bigger government of Campton Hills. My synopsis mirrors a lot of what these people are promulgating.

1) Biggest thing for me is what they say about Fiscal Responsibility. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that what they're saying makes sense.

2) School District 303....apparently we lose some voice there. I wasn't aware of that, but if that's true.... That just ain't good!

3) Finally....Campton is already on the annexation move.... They incorporated so that they wouldn't be annexed, but now they're doing unto others......NICE!!!!!!

Pass this around.....we only have one chance to get the message out. Be active and proactive against these people. I view them as very dangerous people in relation to our community.

Reasons to Vote For the Campton Dissolution as Given by Campton The Promise!!! (edit/delete)

Reasons for Dissolution

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

•· It is unrealistic and ultimately impossible to effectively manage a municipality with "No New Taxes." Shared revenue from the State is never paid out at 100 %.

•· The Special Service Area (SSA) established because of flooding in the Evening Prairie subdivision is essentially a tax, but residents have been told it is a benefit.

•· Relying solely on sales tax revenue to support a village requires a thriving retail and commercial area. Currently this does not exist in the Village of Campton Hills to the extent necessary to support the added layer of government. And if an adequate level of commercial development were achieved, it would negatively impact the rural quality of life this Village was formed to protect!

PUBLIC SAFETY

•· Our taxes continue to support the Kane County Sheriff's Department just as they did before incorporation. No tax reductions were passed along to us as a result of our no longer using the Sheriff's services.

•· By the Village President's and Treasurer's own admission at a public meeting, the Village is currently unable to financially provide even "minimally acceptable levels of municipal services." The much ballyhooed increased revenue resulting from the recently certified special census DOES NOT result in a windfall for the Village. That projected increase in funds was already factored into the current Appropriations Ordinance (like a Budget) which was approved by the Village Board earlier this summer. In other words, the Village already "spent" that money even before the exact amount was determined and is relying on that money to make ends meet.

SCHOOL DISTRICT 303

•· Because we are no longer an unincorporated area, we have lost 2 guaranteed seats on the D303 school board.

•· In the long run, Campton Hill's groundbreaking land/cash ordinance will have minimal impact on District 303's finances. The projected annual dollar increase is less than .002% of D303's $150,000,000 annual budget. And even this projection assumes that all available land in D 303 will be developed into residential housing which, of course, will not be the case.

•· School boundaries are not dictated by municipal boundaries, nor do municipalities have any influence in the drawing of boundary lines. The Village has no say in who goes to North or who goes to East, etc.

ANNEXATION

•· VCH has already annexed two parcels of land in the northwest corner of the Village along Route 47. Prior to incorporation, Elgin was vehemently condemned for pursuing expansion into this same general area. Isn't this the same land grabbing tactics Elgin was using? Aren't 20+ square miles enough already?!?

•· NO Boundary Agreements have been executed with our 6 municipal neighbors in order to preserve and protect the nearby Village land from their annexation. Could this be because the Village wants to annex land close to these municipalities in order to expand its own borders?

Vote YES to DISSOLVE the Village of Campton Hills

Paid for by Campton the Promise 10/4/2008

Campton The Promise

Just signed on today and got an broadcast e-mail showing the new site for the opposition against Campton Hills. I've cut and pasted, but you can get the information yourself from the site. The site is www.camptonthepromise.com. Do your own research and make your own decisions on what you want to do, but this looks like a very well thought out site. All of the citizens in Campton are concerned with the future of the area out here. It's taken over 2000 signatures to get on the ballot to dissolve Campton where it only took a few signatures to create this entity. In fairness to all, I ask that you just educate yourself and go vote to preserve the peace and beauty of our area.

Below is some of the text from the first page of the website. I'm disabling the commenting section on this post as this is informational only. If you have comments or questions contact the people at Camptonthepromise.

Welcome to Campton The Promise.
Where you will find The Rest of The Story.

However, in order for you to discover what is really going on
in your community you will need to open your mind and ask yourself why thousands of your neighbors don't want this Village. Why are they spending hundreds and even thousands
of dollars of their own savings to leave (disconnect), or have worked so hard to (dissolve) this hastily created project.

Regardless of one's political persuasion, the residents of Campton Hills could do well in remembering the words of one of our Presidents. "There is no fear, but fear itself." We have put together an enormous wealth of information here, for
you to review and digest. Take your time. Make no decision, based, on fear. Base it on the facts. With the dozens of links proved for verification, you are in control.

Please, don't take our word, do your own research. But before
you vote November 4 th , you owe it to your community, our community, to get all of the story.
