With all the crap going on in politics, it's actually refreshing to see that they are doing something nice and well for the taxpayer. They've created the Emergency Contact Database. Just so cool. Check out http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/drivers/ecd/home.html.
Join The Emergency Contact Database
This database allows Illinois instruction permit, driver's license and identification card holders to enter their emergency contact information into a voluntary, secure database. Starting in August 2009, in the event of a motor vehicle crash or other emergency situation where a person is unable to communicate directly, law enforcement may access this database to help them reach the person's designated emergency contacts.
If a person holds both an Illinois driver's license or permit and an Illinois identification card, the emergency contact information can be entered for both cards in one transaction. The information will only be associated with the record(s) selected by the participant.
Participants can add, modify, or delete their emergency contact information at any time by visiting this web page. Any modifications or deletions will overwrite all previously entered information. Previously entered emergency contact information will not be displayed, in order to ensure the privacy and security of the information. Participants can print the page containing their emergency contact information upon completion for their records.
Participants may select one or two persons as their emergency contacts, and are encouraged to share their participation with the emergency contacts they have chosen.
It is the responsibility of the holder of the driver's license, instruction permit, temporary visitor's driver's license and/or identification card to enter accurate data into the required fields, as well as to update contact data should any data change after initial enrollment in the emergency contact database. The Secretary of State assumes no responsibility for the accuracy of the data entered by the holder of a driver's license (including commercial driver's license), instruction permit, temporary visitor's driver's license and/or identification card and disclaims any liability for damages, costs, and/or expenses, including, without limitation, consequential damages, arising or resulting from any inaccurate data or failure to update contact data.
Well....it's finally here. The Annual Scarecrow Festival comes to Saint Charles, Illinois this weekend. Check out www.scarecrowfest.com.
My family and I have gone so many years. This year we're going to the Pumpkin Festival in Door County Wisconsin. Needless to say, the Scarecrow Festival in Saint Charles is THE PLACE TO BE IN THE WESTERN SUBURBS!!!! IN THE FALL!!!
There are things for the kids to do. Go through the scarecrow festival and judge all of the entrants for scarecrow contest. The old company that I worked for....well....we won the contest twice. It's so much more advanced now. The kids go crazy.
Great entertainment as well. Live bands, dancing and some drinks for the evening goers.
During the days there are a lot of kid activities as well. There are art and craft shows. There are outdoor markets.
Come on by and see what's really grown into what's now the biggest scarecrow and fall festival in the midwest!
Just had my 15 year law school reunion at Northern Illinois University on Saturday. Man was it a blast. It started with tailgaiting at the NIU School of Law Alumni Tent. Free food, beer, and pop and cupcakes for the kids.
Afterwords, we went to the Northern Illinois University vs. Western Michigan University game which NIU won 38-3. Just an awesome game.
Then we went to the bookstore & ate at Burrittoville, the midnight mecca of NIU after drinking parties. Had some killer mexican food.
Finally, we went to the reception. I gave the kids the tour of the law schoo. There were some really cool changes to the school. The favorite of the kids? Seeing dad's picture for the class of 1994. "Boy dad....you looked like a boy then." "Gee thanks kids.....I became aged by raising you five."
After that, we went to the reception. Kids weren't allowed, so I put them in a room with a TV for an hour. The room was connected to the event so when things got rowdy, I'd take a piece of meat and throw it in their cage.
We really had a fun time reminiscing about life, our paths and what we're all doing. There were no egos that said "I'm this or I'm so great about that." No... surprisingly our class was very humble. The black man in the front row is a stellar human being. His name is Thaddeus Wilson. He's now a judge. He's probably the most high profile, yet he's probably the most humble man in our class. I'm the GREAT loooking guy with the two good looking women to the right and left of me (speaking of humility). The kids had a blast. They didn't want to go home. Mom had a lot of fun. I only wish that I could have dumped the kids for 1 hour to continue to hang...but I'm all about our 20 year. Thanks everyone....it was a blast!.
OK...I'm bummed. I thought that we'd make it to the final two cities at least. But, in breaking news, Chicago gets outed right away. We don't know who will win as of yet, but it comes as a crushing blow to the United States, Mayor Daley, Chicagoans and the White House Administration. Right now there's so much negativity against the United States that this very well may not be against Chicago, but it very well may be a statement against the United States. It's too bad. Chicago was the favorite for being a finalist along with Rio de Janiero. Needless to say..... it's a hard pill for Chicago to swallow, but we will move on and grow better as a result.
Chicago is excited. who is going to get tThere's lots and lots of buzz for he 2016 Olympics.
But, Today is the day that Chicago, Illinois, and the United States hope that the 2016 Olympics come back to the United States.
My Views????
I think it really comes down to Chicago and Rio de Janeiro.
Chicago needs this victory and I think it's likely because the rings have never come to Chicago before.
Rio???? The games have never been in South America before.
I think it's a coin flip between those two. I have friends going down to the announcement at noon at Daley Plaza in Chicago for the announcement. We'll see.
