Mortgage Girlfriends Retreat in Chicago
One exhausting day of discussing and sharing one idea after another is exactly what the Mortgage Girlfriends Retreatis all about. This was my second year attending a Mortgage Girlfriends Retreat organized and hosted by the mortgage diva herself, Karen Deis! And what a mental workout we had today!
Lots of great tips! Lots of great ideas to implement! And best of all, lots of great relationships being forged! Make no mistake what this is all about: at the Mortgage Girlfriends Retreat we don't waste precious time sitting on a beach somewhere soaking in the rays. Rather, we spend every precious moment soaking in the valuable information that we can take home and apply in each of our own markets.
Attendees to the Mortgage Girlfriends Retreat come from as far away as Alaska and as close by as 3.2 miles from the hotel (one of those two got lost and was late getting to the meeting this morning. Guess which one???) Some work for banks, some brokers or correspondent lenders, and others own there own businesses. But we all have one thing in common: a desire to embrace technology in order to find the best strategies to apply in our marketing and business acquisition/ retention plans.
Tomorrow will be another packed day. I'm tweeting some Mortgage Girlfriends Retreat updates periodically, so make sure you're following me there! OH! And I forgot to mention that the weather in Chicago right now is a lot better than what's going on in Denver. Another good reason to be here and not home!
GIRLFRIENDS MASTERMIND RETREAT COMING IN MAY!
Do you ever feel that a day or two in a crowded room is not what you need to find your way through the tangled web of social media? As we find ourselves deep into the holiday season, we hear many stories of people less fortunate than some. So many worthy causes to give our time, money or even resourses to. Toys here, food there, money anywhere! But this is a story that I heard about, and then researched to get a few more details, and now I want to share the story with you. It's about giving the gift of love.
Terry and his wife (I am going to call them Mr & Mrs T) were entering the "empty nester" stage of life. Their children were grown and leaving home so they had started down sizing. They were a very religious couple who attended a church of their faith regularly.
There were two other families that also attended the same church. Both families opened their homes and hearts to children in need by providing foster care. One of the families had recently taken in a daughter that was 5 months. The other family had been asked to take a girl that was a little older, a toddler that was 18 months.
Both of these two little girls attended the same day care (to be honest I'm not sure if the day care was the one at the church or outside the church). It was because of the consistent reference of the 18 month old pointing and calling the 5 month old "sissy" that the two foster parents found out they were, in fact, sisters who had been taken from their home at the same time. When processed through the system, they had been separated, each foster family unaware of the other child.
When Mr and Mrs T heard the story, they decided the two babies needed someone to get their young lives back on the right track and immediately started adoption procedures for both girls. They were expecting to receive these great gifts of love in January or February, but it turns out they will probably arrive just before Christmas.
Thank you, Mr and Mrs T, for giving these two girls the gift of love. You are truly an inspiration to us all!
We are joining in with a group to help by donating any gently used clothing or articles that might help this family prepare for their new arrivals. If you are interested in donating, or know someone that might be, please contact Jason Keith.
If you would be interested in sharing this story with a friend, please feel free to post this info graffic:

Mortgage Rate Indicators for Denver
I have fallen out of the habit of posting weekly Mortgage Rate Indicators lately. So I wanted to give you information directly from a page out of my website that has several links that will help you determine what current mortgage rate indicators are suggesting. Or you can always email me or call me to discuss if now is the time to lock your interest rate, or let it float.
We are in downtown Denver today talking about blogging... snowing outside.... warm inside... must be why our system is slow:
BECAUSE EVERYONE MUST BE BLOGGING!!
Come and visit the new office for Keller Williams Downtown... 3rd floor of the Brooklyn's Sports Bar, right next to the Pepsi Center. (Don't get sidetracked and stop at the FIRST floor without coming up and inviting us to join you!)
Stay tuned for the next class: Thursday, November 18th at 10:00.
See you then...
