Each month, the Imagination Library mails a new age-appropriate, hardcover book to registered children from birth to age five-at no cost to the family, regardless of income. The cost of delivering 12 hardcover books to one child is $30 annually. This cost is split evenly between Henderson County and a state budgetary allocation requested annually by the governor, approved by the General Assembly, and administered by the Governor's Books from Birth Foundation. Meaning, Henderson County Imagination Library must raise $15 per child, per year.
There are nearly 200,000 children currently registered for the Imagination Library in Tennessee. Henderson County has approximately 1,652 children under the age of 5 and of those we are serving 66%. Henderson County Imagination Library has to raise approximately $30,000 annually to cover the cost of this program. So, your support would be greatly appreciated!
For more information about the Henderson County Imagination Library, or to sponsor/register a child to receive the monthly book, contact Mayor Dennis Ray McDaniel ~17 Monroe Ave. Suite 4 ~ Lexington, TN 38351 ~ (731) 968-0122

A sell off not seen in decades!!
Correction or catastrophe???
This crisis started with the housing market and will need the rebound of the housing market to regain American trust.
First Bear Stears, Freddie & Fannie, Lehman, AIG, and today the talk on Wall Street was the merger of Morgan Stanley by Wachovia.
In reviewing today's events, the uncertainty was causing chaos on Wall Street.
Day 4......critical. Regardless of what happens tomorrow, history will be made, no doubt.
Praying for a miracle.

Pricing. How important it is! Price it right and it will sell.
Well, good luck with that. Depends on who you ask, right?
Seller wants to put home on market at $350,000. Two appraisals. $75,000 difference. So, the sellers ask for a third. Would you believe, it's smack dab in the middle of the other two!!!
Three different values, three different appraisers, and sellers who really want to sell their home.
So if three licensed professionals can't get close to the same value, what's a seller to do?
Well, they call the local Realtor for a "Market Analysis". With this information, the sellers now have four opinions to the value of their home.
With this example, it is sure easy to understand why we make so many pricing errors.
In today's market, pricing adjustments must be make timely and accurately. As you see, it is not so easy to get the price right from the beginning.
Right price....just roll the dice.

Fair week comes to an end.
What a great week!!!
The weather was hot and humid.
Thousands attended the fair this week and with just a few minor glitches, all was well.
Food was great....thanks to the Resue Squad, VFW, Fire Department, Altruistic Club, and all the other great cooks for causes.
As far as business exhibits, Green Thumb Nursery was my favorite. Such talent.
Lexington Christian Church wins the prize for entertainment. Andy Avery is an awesome singer and musician. Enjoyed Wednesday night youth group.
RE/MAX wins the team award. Jamie Perkins, Kathy Fisher, Janice Johnson, Monica Downs, and Nick Mays donated a whole bunch of time and energy to make sure that every child had a balloon and every adult had a chance to win the 32" Flat Screen TV. Congratulations to Steve Rhodes, the lucky winner.
Thanks for visiting our fair booth. Enjoyed seeing and talking to each of you.
Looking forward to next year.
