The City of Lexington invites YOU to the 2009 Festival of the Lakes Fireworks Celebration held this July 4th.
Last year, an estimated 25,000 spectators gathered around Beech Lake to enjoy the fireworks. This year's event will, no doubt, be another high profile event in our community.
Plans are underway now to make this event even bigger and better than last year. Lexington was pleased by last year's turnout and promises to make this year's event even more memorable.
So, please, plan to join us for 2009 Festival of the Lakes. It will be spectacular.

Pretty scary isn't it.
As American support began to diminish for the stimulus package.....plunging to a mere 37%, the rush was on to get a Congressional vote.
Do you realize this loan is enough to give every person in America $3000? Pretty astonishing.
I think at this point, most of us are pretty skeptical. Wall Street certainly was not a supporter of the package as evidenced by the 381 point decline today.
Guess it's a wait and see. A make or break America. Earned trust for this Congress and this President.
We've seen most of the first $350 million of this package squandered. From bonuses, new jets, retreats, even last week a Vegas vacation in a 5-star hotel for AIG, GM, and many others who accepted taxpayer money.
Most of us are HOPEFUL. Most of us agree that something had to be done and quickly. Most of us are sick of the greed demonstrated by our leadership. Our new leaders must show unwavering courage, a sense of fairness, walk the walk, possess a deep understanding of America's needs, and assume full responsibility and accountability for their actions.
We believe in America. The strong survive! We have the desire to overcome and WE WILL!

If you haven't seen the new book, stop by the local Chamber of Commerce office and pick up a copy.
It's a quality publication. Filled with great photos, articles, and a reference list of area businesses.
Congratulations, Chamber!!! A great way to introduce Lexington & Henderson County to those considering a move or visit to the area.

Very few times in our lives do we have a moment...you know, the kind that takes your breath away.
Well, we at RE/MAX Unlimited had such a moment today.
We had a surprising and most pleasant visitor, SFC Paula Vaden. Ms. Vaden is our "Adopt a Soldier".
Paula presented RE/MAX Unlimited with a certificate and an American Flag flown over the Headquarters in Iraq. We were so thrilled. Paula stated that we were the only business in Lexington to participate, which made us a little sad, but even more honored to accept this gift.
We did so little to help....a few care packages, emails, cards, and lots of prayers that she and the others in her platoon would return home safely. And all did return home safely, a blessing in itself.
So to Paula and the rest of her platoon, Welcome Home!
From the bottom of our hearts, "Thank You for Your Service".
