O BOY....NEW YEAR???? and its time for a little Do-it-Yourself

Hey as you know I have talked in the past on money, listings, goals and inspiration, and even sharing marketing tips so I thought I would venture out to decorating tips I sometimes share with my sellers.

A good friend of mine use to say a white bathroom can sometimes keep things simple and even boost a the sale of the home. Whether you have a series of large bathrooms or muliple number of small powder rooms keeping it defined and clutter-free can be tough. But WHITE bathrooms are synonymous with PURITY and health AND classic style.

Choosing the exact "white" color can be simple (sometimes) but the color scheme to go with those white walls can be confusing and frustrating (there are soooooo many shades) and if you are SELLING a home you want to get it RIGHT (paint can get expensive). It is important to focus on the visual appeal. What shade of white goes with my home??? Blue-based or Yellow -based??? Are your looking for a cool setting or a warm setting? What ever you do don't mix them... Use caution when selecting your appropriate shade or shades. Rule of thumb ...most of the time using PURE WHITE brings the feeling of cold and uninvitng feeling. However, Pure white is great for trim work and accents.

With this simple wall color you can add many design styles, textures and accessories. Warm Lighting, multiple textures, and beautiful rugs are all great added touches. Just remember...accessories are accents and they should match your style and also should be used for multiple functions in a bathroom. Keep it simple, elegant and clutter-free.

With that here is a PAINTING TIP....painting

Painting is certainly one of the perennial favorite projects for do-it-yourselfers. You can transform a room in just a short time, and perhaps best of all, you need only a few basic tools.

In addition to a good paint brush, a quality roller cover is one of the essentials. And as with brushes, professional-quality equipment costs only a few dollars more than the low-end stuff, and the difference in ease of use and the quality of the finished product makes the small additional expense well worth it!

Enjoy and Good Luck

RE/MAX SHARING ITS VOICE and so am I....

Hey all you activerainers, I thought I would share some news positive for some negative for others. This is GREAT NEWS for us (RE/MAXERS) but unfortunately we have follow agents out there that are filling the punch right. I know that real estate is all about COMPETITION, but right now is the time to REACH OUT to your fellow peers to LEND a hand and offer any assistance you can.

Below is an article from the RE/MAX news online, thought you might be interested. Also I heard last week that Realogy Corp., who owns C21, ERA and Coldwell Banker closed all seven of its ERA offices in Nashville. They told their agents that they had a choice between two Coldwell Banker companies that they could transfer to, or they would send their licenses to the real estate commission. Sounds like the downturn is hitting Realogy pretty hard!

C21 Discontinues TV Ads; RE/MAX to Debut 3 New Spots

By Deborah Ball, RE/MAX Times Associate Editor

While some competitors are limiting - or even discontinuing - national television advertising, RE/MAX has a campaign that's alive and well.

In fact, three new RE/MAX TV ads reflecting the opportunities consumers have in today's market will debut in February, says David Rea, RE/MAX International Executive Creative Director.

Realogy Corp. subsidiary Century 21 announced this week that it will stop running its national television spots amid current economical woes, according to Inman News.

Century 21 says it is shifting focus from TV to online advertising due to changing consumer patterns, but acknowledges that the company's shrinking budget as a result of the housing downturn played a role in the decision.

For its part, RE/MAX plans to continue promoting the brand and the Associates behind it.

"The economy has led a lot of our competitors to cut back on services to their franchisees and agents, but RE/MAX believes its Affiliates need all the support they can get in times like these," Rea says. "That's why we'll continue our industry-leading TV and radio advertising, as well as our ever-growing presence on the Internet.

"RE/MAX agents don't have to choose between media; they'll continue to get both. The president of C21 says it himself: 'The main benefit of TV advertising is name recognition.' As RE/MAX TV advertising has increased, so has our name recognition - and we've become the undisputed leader."

Download this graph to see the most recent RE/MAX Share of Voice data in national TV advertising.

RE/MAX has led in national TV share of voice for the past seven years, Rea adds. He also notes that the television campaign helps drive traffic to remax.com, which drives more leads to RE/MAX agents and offices through LeadStreet.

"We get more hits to the Web site when we're running TV commercials," Rea says. "Consumers spend more time watching TV (followed by radio and the Internet) than any other medium. Our media mix reflects consumer consumption. RE/MAX out-delivers other top brands on a regional basis, too, with more locally placed media than any of our competitors."

How technology has changed....the real estate world

How technology has changed....

New technologies, especially the Internet, have revolutionized the way " US realtors" buy and sell real estate. Although I am fairly new at this, I love using these new technologies because they allow me to be more productive and more accessible to my clients. They also give me access to the latest market information. Wow, sometimes this can be depressing. But I have to say over all technology has been good to me

Through all these changes though, one thing remains the same: real estate is about PERSONAL SERVICE. In my many years in this business, the BEST real estate service involves

THE FOLLOWING 3 STEPS

  1. Listening to your clients
  2. Promptly responding to their needs and wants
  3. Putting all of your best resources to work for them.

My "East Tennessee Style" of helping people buy and sell their home includes a combination of up-to-date technology and personalized, high-quality service. I use the best of both worlds to get you the home you deserve.

When you are ready, give me a call (423-817-2004) I will save you time, money and stress. Let me know when I can get to work for you.

I would love for you to consider me as your representative or referral agent. You can be confident that I will help you every step of the way.

May your troubles be less, May your blessings be more, May nothing but
happiness come through your door.

Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

Linda L. Robinson's 2009 reflection and wish for ALL OF YOU

When the clock strikes twelve on December 31st, There will be people all over the world that will toast and cheer with a friend and wish each other a very Happy New Year. There will be others that reach out to a loved one and embrace them with love and a great big kiss for the New Year. And then there are some, this event is no more than a change of a calendar. For others, the New Year symbolizes the beginning of a better tomorrow.

As for what it means to me... a time to CELEBRATE
& count my blessings and be thankful for what I have been given by many of YOU
and to reflect on life, family, work and most of all myself...

So I leave these thoughts to you

2008 has not been good for most but the future is upon us, let's make the best of it... think POSITIVE, set REASONABLE and ATTAINABLE goals, the future is ours...reach for the stars and give yourself something to celebrate in 2009

Seeing yourself as you want to be is the key to personal growth

Success is not measured by what one brings, but rather by what one leaves.
