Thanksgiving in East Tennesee - Sunday, November 23, 2008

It's a beatiful day today, here in Piney Flats, in the eastern tip of Tennessee. We woke up to temperatures aroung 24 degrees (12 degrees warmer than Saturday morning). It's unusally cold for this time of year. We even had a skiff of snow this past Friday...........enough for the Sullivan County schools be to be out for a snow holiday! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! We took off for Church in our wool sweaters and our mittens. The sun was shining when we left Enterprise Methodist Church (a small community church near Boone LaKe). We went home long enough to change our clothes and took off to the back side of Steele Creek Park, near Bristol, TN, called Rooster Park, for a short hike before returning home for a Sunday cookout of Turkey burgers, along with baked potatoes and green beans. Life is Good!

Enjoy your Sunday evening! I'll have more to share next week as we all enjoy Thanksgiving with our families and our extended families.
