It's fun to look at homes. Not so fun is giving the kind of full disclosure of income and assets related to a full-doc loan. And the experience is also colored by how well the loan officer does their job. Doing a full-doc loan is hard work. If the loan officer and others (agents, appraiser, etc.) work hard at it, the loan tends to take less time and have fewer problems arise. If the loan officer hands the loan package off to a processor and lets them handle it, as they do especially in retail bank lending, it can take 60+ days to close a loan. In contrast, I have a processor and also still get hands on throughout the loan. That means I call the escrow officer, title company, agents and client when things happen and need to be resolved, and I update the client and their agent through the loan process. I am honest and hardworking, and I am available evenings and weekends by appointment by phone. If you don't use me, your questions will have to wait until regular business hours; it seems minor sometimes, but outside of business hours, when you're worried about what the status is, a phone call lets you sleep. As to cost, on any given loan, I compare favorably as to the interest rate you get and the costs involved with USAA and Navy Fed and Bank of America. Full service at reasonable cost is a bargain!
I am also part of my husband, Frank's, real estate team. As real estate brokers, we have helped clients purchase and sell homes and investment properties throughout Riverside, San Diego, and San Bernardino counties, including Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, Hemet, San Jacinto, Moreno Valley, Beaumont, Oceanside, Fallbrook, Carlsbad, San Bernardino, Fontana, and the desert communities of Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, and Twentynine Palms.
We are California natives--Frank from San Francisco and Lisa from Los Angeles. We know what moving involves, having moved many times before Frank's retirement after 20 years of service in the Marine Corps. Although we were stationed in Virginia, Okinawa, El Toro, Camp Pendleton and Twentynine Palms, we settled on the Murrieta/Temecula Valley area as the ideal place to sink roots and raise our children.
We both were active in academics and sports growing up, with Frank graduating from UC Berkeley (Business Administration) and then UC Berkeley's Boalt Hall School of Law as a Captain in the Marine Corps. Lisa graduated from Stanford (English & Economics) and Boalt Hall as well. We met at Boalt Hall, passed the California bar in the fall after graduation, and married shortly thereafter. Then Frank served as a trial attorney and as a Military Judge, retiring from the Marine Corps as a Lieutenant Colonel. For three years Lisa practiced law -- business litigation -- and then she began an at-home career with our children.
