All of us are constantly trying to come up with better ways to make money. Watch our use of time, cut down on expenses, get more referrals, the whole nine yards. It is always about that bottom line.
We all spend money and time on advertising. Getting people to know our name, and give us a call is a never ending battle. Anytime that we can get a referral from an existing customer, we know that our chances of winning a new client are much better. Everyone listens to friends after all.
As a guy who has done a bit of advertising, and spent some hard earned money chasing after clients, I know the drill. Spend lots to gain a little in the hopes that I will make a few bucks. Obviously it has worked because I am still in business. But I am constanly analyzing my advertising to see how it is performing for me. Was that x dollars worth it?
Last summer I started trying to come up with a way to increase my leads per dollar ratio. After drawing up lots of charts, and jotting down all of my crazy ad ideas, I came up with a few to try. One of them worked pretty good, so I started tweaking it a bit. Voila! Not bad.
My idea was based upon co-branding. We all have heard of it, and most have probably tried it. With it thought, there are alwyas inherent risks. What if my co-brand partner is bad at that they do? What if they make the clients mad? What if...? All night worrying could easily commence. What to do?
After a few tweaks I hit upon a very simple idea. It works for me and my colleagues here in our area, really well. It worked so well that I actually opened a new business, got a patent, and have expanded into other states.
If you are looking for new ways to advertise, or a new way to do business, email me. This is simple, cheap, and fun. It will get you clients.
Now thats what I'm talking about! Chuckie getting down to the peoples work. The C-man cometh. Earning your pay Chuckster. You the man. What a way to spend OUR money and OUR time.
More laws are needed. Yep. Congress is going to be looking after you. Those evil credit card companies may have been putting things in fine print again, and our advocate, the Chuckarino, is going to put a big flippin stop to it. Credit card companies take heed. Your rear ends will probably be sitting in the witness stand up in the Big House real soon. You had better call some MLB baseball players just so they can fill you in on how it feels to sit in that hotseat.
Iran with nukes. In debt up to our you know what. Our Senate holding Saturday votes. Our President not able to make an adult decision on Afghanistan. Terrorists shooting up military bases on our home turf. This list could go on and on. Real problems. Real debate needed. But what does Chuck Schumer come up with?
Our frequent flier miles may be going to waste. The airlines and the credit card companies are putting the rules in fine print, and once again, we are so stupid, that we need Uncle Chuckie to protect us. Our elected idiots may need to enact a few new rules. Protect us and stuff. Big Daddy coming to our rescue. No wonder our country is in trouble.

Don't forget to vote these jackasses out in 2010. They do not deserve to get paid by us anymore.
My first few weeks on AR, I kept seeing a name over and over. The guy would always post on the same blogs that I posted on. As I started to write a few blogs, he would comment on my blogs. I like what he had to say. For the most part, we agreed on most everything.
For those of you who are either new to AR, or who don't get out much, I would like to introduce you to one of my newest friends and heroes, Mr. Simon Conway. He is my friend for the usual reasons; great guy, good businessman, loves his kids, conservative ideals, and plain all around nice guy. He also coaches tennis which is one of my favorite sports. I would bet that as a real estate agent, he makes lots of friends just for showing up. He is that good.
The reason that he is my hero goes a bit deeper. Most of us in this country don't think too much about other countries and what they could offer. Even countries that we like to visit and play in don't really ever cross our minds as possible places to live. And even if we did move to any of those countries, we probably would not be fully supportive of them like we are the good ole USA. Can you imagine moving over to say Denmark, and being their Olympic Team's biggest supporter? Or how about moving to Brazil and thinking that their military is just the greatest thing on Earth? I don't think so.
Simon is a full blooded Londoner. Born and raised there. He even ran a succesful business there. At some point he decided to move here. He not only started anew, but he also went through the legal 7 year process to become a US citizen. Most of us did it the easy way and could not imagine doing it the hard way. He, and many like him, are probably better citizens than some of us.
Simon hosts a radio show out of a station in Orlando, Florida. He even writes a blog for the station. Here is the link: http://www.540wfla.com/pages/simon_conway.html I highly recommend it.
All of these things about Simon are great, and he is a great guy, but they are not the reason that he is one of my heroes. There is a guy named Spanky Gibson. Simons knows all about him and has written numerous blogs about him. Here is one of them: http://activerain.com/blogsview/1089197/always-remember-that-freedom-is-not-free-a-tribute-to-our-servicemen-and-women
He has constantly reminded those of us who were born here, and take our citizenship for granted, that there are people like Spanky who are willing to give and give again, and even again for our great nation. The people who give the most are often the most overlooked. While many people have written about Spanky, it is Simon's writing about him that sticks out at me. Simon is the guy who moved to another country and became that countries biggest supporter.
FYI- Simon even has groups named after him on other websites. The man is simply too darn popular.
Save a horse ride a cowboy. Up here in Idaho lots of girls have that on their bumper. It is cute and to the point. I would like to start a new bumper sticker. Here it is:
Save grandma, kill a liberal. Short and to the point. Supposedly there will be no rationing of healthcare. The libs keep telling us that. If that is the case, then the libs have nothing to worry about. But I propose tht we have anyone who is in favor of this new socialist healthcare bill, elected and voters, sign a document that delares that at the first sign of rationing, or at the first signs of a board of czar who gets to decide who gets what treatment, that the signer will kill themselves. Get their mangy butts out of the system and make room for someone who is valued.
Libs are always telling us we should only keep a child if it is wanted. Well, this would be a great time for them to lead by example. Libs, you are not wanted. Do yourself. End it, you do have the choice. You love choice. You never shut up about it. Here is your chance. Do the rest of us a favor.

Standing in line at the doctor's office, the man was starting to get mad. He had been in this line for over 20 minutes, and all he was trying to do was check-in. Just give them his documents and fill out the forms in triplicate so he could go sit down in the waiting room. He looked into the waiting room and saw that there were no empty chairs to be had. Even old ladies and women with babies were standing along the walls and outside. His blood pressure increased.
He knew how this worked. He had seen it from the other side many times. He was a doctor. Like most doctors now, they came from the military. After the govt had taken over healthcare, no one really wanted to go into medicine anymore. The pay was right on par with other government workers and the bureacracy part of it was hideous. The military doctors got extra points on the exam so that they could get hired easier. He thought to himself that the only people who would be more qualified to be a government doctor would be DMV workers. They were used to staring down long lines of pissed off people, and simply going back to their solitaire game.
In the early days he had been one of the first to realize that this system did not work. Many people would never get any treatment at all. The doctor simply could not justify the expense of taking care of them, so they were sent home. Sorry. Not enough funds to pay for all of us. The young were more important than the elderly. Fact of life he used to think. Now that seemed wrong. He was getting older. He still had something to contribute to society. Becuase of his age though he knew that he would not get treatment. He wondered why he kept standing in the line.
As a doc he knew what was wrong, or at least thought that he did. He would need medicine. They would not give it to him. No one cared if a patient had money or not. That did not matter. The taxpayers paid for all drugs. No one was allowed to go and buy them. They were free. Sort of. The drug czar appointed by the President decided who got them. He had to watch over the people's money. That was that.
