Kevin "Flag" Robinson Doing a fractional right now

2013 is coming

Standing in line at the doctor's office, the man was starting to get mad. He had been in this line for over 20 minutes, and all he was trying to do was check-in. Just give them his documents and fill out the forms in triplicate so he could go sit down in the waiting room. He looked into the waiting room and saw that there were no empty chairs to be had. Even old ladies and women with babies were standing along the walls and outside. His blood pressure increased.

He knew how this worked. He had seen it from the other side many times. He was a doctor. Like most doctors now, they came from the military. After the govt had taken over healthcare, no one really wanted to go into medicine anymore. The pay was right on par with other government workers and the bureacracy part of it was hideous. The military doctors got extra points on the exam so that they could get hired easier. He thought to himself that the only people who would be more qualified to be a government doctor would be DMV workers. They were used to staring down long lines of pissed off people, and simply going back to their solitaire game.

In the early days he had been one of the first to realize that this system did not work. Many people would never get any treatment at all. The doctor simply could not justify the expense of taking care of them, so they were sent home. Sorry. Not enough funds to pay for all of us. The young were more important than the elderly. Fact of life he used to think. Now that seemed wrong. He was getting older. He still had something to contribute to society. Becuase of his age though he knew that he would not get treatment. He wondered why he kept standing in the line.

As a doc he knew what was wrong, or at least thought that he did. He would need medicine. They would not give it to him. No one cared if a patient had money or not. That did not matter. The taxpayers paid for all drugs. No one was allowed to go and buy them. They were free. Sort of. The drug czar appointed by the President decided who got them. He had to watch over the people's money. That was that.

To the Batcave, I hope.

Remember the old Batman TV show? I may be showing my age here, but I sure do. When I was a kid that was my show. On to my point. On the show whenever the police could not get in touch with Batman by Batphone, they would simply use a huge searchlight. The light would be pointed up into the sky, and it was not a normal searchlight. The light that it projected into the sky was in the image of a bat with its wings spread out. Batman would see it and know that there was trouble afoot in Gotham City.

Ever heard of Searchlight Nevada? I have. I do not know if they use searchlights there, but they might want to give it a thought. In this case, they do not need a good guy like Batman to come to their rescue. Actually quite the opposite is true. The good folks of Searchlight probably do not want their guy back, but the rest of us sure could use a break. We need to get rid of him. Get him out of our hair and back to old Searchlight.

I was thinking that the town could put up the light beam with a picture of a dollar sign on it. The guy always seems to respond to that symbol. After all, he is out for himself only. But wait, maybe we should be more truthful and use another symbol. I am just not sure how to do an image of a village idiot.

For those who do not know who Searchlight Nevadas most famous citizen is, I am not trying to do a Paul Harvey on you. Just mentioning the guys name though makes me sick. You'll have to look it up yourself.

Your input required

I need your help. As a business person I have hired employees before, but I have never hired this type of employee. Due to family health problems, I need to hire a person who will basically be a housekeeper on all levels. That is the person will not only clean the house, but also pick up around the place, do laundry, do odd jobs, etc.

I figure that I should do a background check and a drug test, check references, and do a 90 test period. Am I missing anything? I am considering offering them an apartment on my property as part of their employment, but I have no clue what to offer in terms of pay. Does anyone have any input on this? Anyone with experience in these matters?

Calling all builders

Calling all builders. Are there any besides me on AR? Just checking.

This AR thing is pretty good for picking up new customers, or clients, or whatever we all call them. I just keep on blogging about what it is that I do, and how much fun I have, and how stupid our government is,. and the leads come in. I pick up about 3 per month on average. not a lot, but we all know that anytime your phone rings, it is a good thing.

I just started a new group called Home Builders Rock. If you are a builder and would like to hang with other builders, give it a look.

Still in 3rd place

Dang it man. I can't keep up. These two are simply walking away from me at warp speed (little Star Trek talk there). I try. I really do. Writing blogs, reblogging, commenting, the whole nine yards. But they just keep pulling away from me.

Brian Brumpton and Janna Scharf are number one and two here in Idaho right now, at least as AR points go. I have been trailing both of them for some time now. I keep hoping against hope that one or both of them will decide to take a Eurepoean vacation or something. Or maybe one of them will figure they are so far ahead that they can cruise for a few months.

Both Brian and Janna are real estate agents and I am a lowly builder. Maybe that is the problem. Actually I am licensed as an agent in a certain state, even hang my license with a broker, but I do not do anything with it. Maybe if I did, I would be smarter or more aggresive or know more people or something. Who knows.

Hey Brian and Janna, nothing to worry about here. I am just a slow moving blogger that is never going to catch you. You ought to take a vacation or relax for a week or two. Give yourself some time to think without clouding up your mind here on AR.

Uh. They probably don't read my blog anyways.

PS- I am actually in 4th place. Just trying to make myself feel a little better. At least a bronze right?
