Loon's Green Team committee has been evaluating ways to reduce our company's carbon footprint. We all need to take steps in order to protect the environment we live in...each week I will out line some of the steps that is being taken at Loon Mountain

This week I will spotlight how Loon Mountain is improving the Air Quality. Loon Mountain has purchased an On - Board Diagnositcs System to check all of the resort vehicles to run more efficiently. This in turn protects air quality, reduces energy use, and extends the life of the vehicle. Loon uses a biodiesel mix to fuel the grooming feet and all off road equipment. Loon has an anit-idling policy for company vehicles and anti idiling guest education through signage in the skiier drop off areas. Loon runs a network of lodgin, shuttle buses to minimize the use of individual vehicles and limit vehicle emissions, as well as run a bus service from Boston to Loon each weekend.
