Weather: Big Snow Accumulation in Lorain County, Ohio

Wow! Beggining Friday, March 7th..the snow storm of 2008 hit our area in Lorain County, Ohio. By Saturday night, snow accumulation had reached 18.5 inches, with areas of drifting snow that was even at 3 feet. I had to cancel my Sunday, Open House. It was a rural home, in Grafton, with a long driveway in great need of getting plowed. Plus received numerous calls from other agents cancelling showing appts on many of my listings, no one seemed to want to go out in this stuff, don't blame them one bit. The whole weekend was pretty much at a standstill, including Sunday, where I was still getting cancellation notices. Today, looks like the weather will be kinder, with no more snow coming down. At least, my time wasn't wasted. I couldn't go out, forced to stay inside. Got much catch up work completed with my real estate files & making calls. Even was able to figure out how to post my listings here, on ActiveRain. I'm excited to be learning more techniques with this blog at ActiveRain. See Photos below, one is of my backyard patio, the other is my husband working on clearing the drive and finding our vehichles!

New Jobs are Coming to Lorain County

Lowe's is coming to Oak Point Rd in Lorain, Ohio!

I was truly excited to see this news posted in the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram last month (Feb 2008). Lorain County has been hit hard with job losses, factories closing, companies relocating out of our area. The reporter on this story, Stephen Szucs-The Chronicle Telegram, tells us this store is expected to be opening in 2008 - possibly as early as August. Lowe's has been a faithful friend to the real estate commumity, with special offers for licensed REALTORs to use. See: http://www.LowesRealtorBenefits.com .

Lowe's has a website for those seeking employment at: http://www.lowes.com/careers , although I did not see postings for job openings for this location on Oak Point Rd in Lorain, as of yet. Let's keep our fingers crossed that the recent heavy snows that hit us this weekend, will not cause much of a delay in the construction. WE NEED JOBS here in Lorain County. Thank you LOWE's!!
